Had a plan to wait until after the Detroit Auto Show to see if a new generation was revealed and if not I was going to get a new 4Runner or a used LC200. Picked up a 2016 TEP w/KDSS last night. Here is a picture with my old car (the first car that I will miss) as I was moving stuff over. Glad to be on here as an owner! Cheers.

Welcome and congratulations!

Congratulations! Welcome to the club. What plans do you have for it?

I plan to do a few appearance modifications, blacking out the silver bumper trim, Morimoto HID and/or Rigid Fogs (the headlights are just too dim compared to my car's with HIDs) and I may do grille swap for the TRD Pro "Toyota" garnish.

Functionally I will do a Toytec (or similar coilover) lift, BFG KO2 or Cooper D-AT/3 Tires in a larger size 275 or 285, sliders, RCI skids where needed and Gobi or Baja Rack.

I went from a sporty car (which I enjoyed immensly) to this as a method of getting out there.

Looks like my twin. :)

You'll love it. I've had mine for almost 8 months and every day I sit in the driver seat and smile!

I am a self confessed car nerd and usually sweat the details such as soft touch materials, tech features, leather quality, seat bolstering and construction etc. I starting searching for a vehicle capable for off-highway travel and landed here on T4R.org and learned all I could. My new 4Runner has some cheap plastics, no real tech, is a 7 year old platform, vinyl seats, purportedly thin fridge white paint, the hood waved like a kite on the way home from the dealer and none of it matters, I knew it all going in and I love it! I also applaud Toyota for continuing to make such a beast.

Great choice in additions to your rig. I hear ya—I switched over from a 335i to a Trail and it's not the same but it's a different kind of fun though. :naughty:

Can't wait to see the progression!

Congrats! I just bought the same truck, minus the KDSS, last week. I put a lift on it yesterday and it's getting new wheels and tires tonight. I can't wait!

Hope you enjoy your new truck!

You too! One week and lift, wheels and tires installed, that is awesome. I know many here esentially go from the dealer to the shop for lifts and tires but I am going to have to wait so the wife doesn't think I am crazy....maybe next month :decision:

Easier to ask for forgiveness, than permission.
