Stereo install question

I tried searching around the forums but couldn't find a good thread. I have a 2001 T4R SR5 and I'm trying to find out how to pull out the dash to install a new head unit. If anyone knows how to do this or can point me in the direction of some pics or a guide or something, that'd be greeeeaaattt.

There is a section in this fourm called "audio and electronics" if you browse around in there you should be able to find a detailed description. The short answer is to unscrew the bolts that are on the very bottom of the two center air conditioning vents (by the floor -- towards the front of the car) then pull gently on them and the clips will pull out.

I looked through the forums and couldnt find it.

The 2 screws I see are by the floor on the console but I dont need to take apart the center console, I just need to take off the dash part where the cd player is.

There are three or four screws that you need to take off to get the stock radio out. You kind of do have to take apart the dash to do this. The silver part (silver on my car) where the AC vents are in the center of the dash is the piece that needs to come off. follow that piece all the way down starting from the ac vent all the way down to the floor and back a few inches, there should be a bolt there that you need to remove. the rest of that piece is held on by snap-in connectors, so if you just pull gently it will release. I will try an post some pictures on the website if I have time.
