Stereo is out. Help!

Alright it's not the biggest emergency but my budddy and I are driving up and down the CA coast in search of waves Friday through Friday and it would be a bust not to have tunes.

If you notice the picture, the AC lights work fine, but both the clock and the stereo seemed to have lost power.

This potentially coincides with me picking up the (power block thing?) for the stereo looking for something under my seat. I looked at it, and the power light is not on (even tho it looks on in the picture because of the flash).

I've only got 24 hours to fix and no mechanics have got the time before I leave. Where should I start?

The "power block thing" is an amp and it won't come on if the stereo isn't on.

Check the ACC fuse.

That is a perfectly good way to check. The other involves a test light or meter.

It's a 15A mini blade fuse. It's in the fuse panel left of the steering wheel. It's labeled ACC.

Got any other ideas while I'm at autozone? That didn't work.

Update: I can see the clock, but just barely. It looks like it would when a battery is dead. But it's clearly not and all other electronics working fine

Do you have power the cigarette lighter? That's on the same ACC circuit. The clocks are notorious for failing so that's not really a good indicator.

If the ACC fuse is good, then your next fuse is located on the back of the stereo.

Buy yourself a 12V test light and go home.

You're gonna have to pull that HU and look for a solid red wire and a solid yellow wire. One of those is full-time power and one is key-on power. You need both.

Fixed! It was the "dome" fuse under the hood. Put two and two together after realizing the center light was out, too.
