Sticky Door Switch

Has anybody ever had the driver's door switch (the one that controls the dome light) stick in the closed position?

The other day, I was driving around for a bit, and when I got home, I jumped out of the truck and started walking towards the house. I glanced back and saw that my headlights were still on. I went back and re-opened the driver's door, and the headlights turned off. (We always leave the headlight switch on... when the truck is turned off and the driver's door is opened, the headlights shut off.)

Now, the switch sticking wouldn't be a problem at night, when the headlights are easily visible, but I'm thinking that if that ever happens during the day and I don't notice, I'll be coming out to a dead battery.

Should I just look at changing the switch out? I wonder if there are any contacts that I can access to clean instead. I should have time to take a look on sunday, but just wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

Sorry to revive an old thread here. I just realized that I hadn't updated it with a solution. Here is what fixed my problem.

When I has having this issue, I believe I swapped the sticky switch on my driver's door with the passenger rear door because it doesn't get used as much, until I found a good one at the junk yard
 
The switch is $16. Not sure if the savings or effort for a pick and pull or swapping is worth it here.

I agree totally with this. I replaced switches on both front doors several years ago. The other issue I ran into, in addition to the headlights not turning off after shutdown, was when I unlocked the vehicle via remote. The system is designed to re-lock after an interval if doors are not opened. If the door switches go wonky, the potential exists for keys to be tossed on the seat and door closed while the owner goes back in the house to fetch the forgotten cell phone and then returns to a locked car with the keys inside. The door switches inform the central locking system that a door has been opened, nullifying the re-lock. Ask me how I know...

Also, the courtesy lights don't illuminate when the door jamb switch doesn't function.
