stock exh manifold heat shield

Mine is rattling like a real MF, and the bolts are stripping. How effective is the stock heat shield? Once I get it off, should I get new bolts and re- install?

Mine rattles too. I would like to fix it but haven't had the chance. Sorry I'm no help on this one.

the one physically on the manifold i just ripped off but i also change my brake fluid once a year like everyone is supposed to.
the heat shield will protect the brake fluid from cooking but if you change it like all your other fluids youll be alright!

Was able to get a 12mm socket to bite, removed the heat shield and added some washers to each bolt and retightened. The rattle is less but still there.... might look into removing it and just be more aware of the quality of my brake fluid. That or give it some 'custom' bends ,we'll see

this gives me an idea to make a nice aluminum heat shield to spruce up the engine bay.
