Stock Hub vs A-market Wheel Bore & Hub vs Wheel Centric Questions

I have a 2003 Sport, 17" wheels, looking to lift and re-wheel/tire.

I understand the stock 4Runner hub is 106mm and is hub-centric design.
I'm looking to buy a set of aftermarket wheels (17 x 8, 0 offset) that are 108mm bore.

A few questions:
1. I read elsewhere on the web of someone experiencing vibrations they were (maybe) attributing to that 2 mm difference, is there some sort of adapter or 'makeup' washer I need to secure the fitment difference?

2. In changing to aftermarket wheels, aren't I switching from hub centric to lug centric design, and should I be aware of anything else I need to mount them safely? Particular lug nuts?
I'll be adding a 2/1 spacer lift (maybe 3-2) and adding Spidertrax spacers as well, probably using 275/70/17 tires.

3. I'm pretty aware of tire size/rub limitations, but as far as actual fitment of the aftermarket wheel to the T4R hub, anything else I need to buy that I don't know to ask yet?
The wheels don't come with any accessories, a good online source to buy the lug nuts I need would also be appreciated.

Toyota wheels are Hub-Centric and Lug-Centric for the best possible centering according t the factory.

1. Yes Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 108-106.1 Wheel Hub Centric Rings (108mm OD x 106.1mm ID) - Pack of 4: Automotive
Install them on to the hubs and leave them there, don't put them on the inside of the wheel, like shown in one of the pictures.

2. Not if you use properly sized centering rings, they will still be hub centric. You will need conical lug nuts with the aftermarket wheels, I would highly recommend the Gorilla extended thread type. Most aftermarket wheels are much thicker then Toyota wheels and you will probably only be able to catch a few threads with normal lug nuts. The extended thread nuts thread down into hole in the wheel and are more secure. Chrome or Black Chrome 12mmX1.5 Spline Drive E/T Ultra Style Conical Lug Nuts You'll want to buy a couple of the spline drive sockets, 1 for the garage, and one to keep in the vehicle.

I bought lug centric wheels for my runner and had terrible vibrations at certain speeds. Took it back for a rebalance, made a difference but not much. Bought hub centering rings in above link and took to a different discount tire. Put on hub centering rings and discovered first place put conical lug nuts but not the EXTENDED THREAD CONICAL lug nuts. They were nice enough to swap them out. After hub rings, correct ET conical lug nuts and a good balance(flange plate adapter) it rides SO much better. Still have a tiny bit of vibes but I'm sure it's cause of my Mud-Terrains! My advice is to buy hub centric wheels unless you're completely stuck on a wheel that doesn't offer hub centric. Check out FN wheels on this forum, they have awesome wheels for our rigs and they're all hub centric. Hope this helps.

Good thread, gonna pick up some centering rings. Anyone know the inner diameter of the Method NV? I can't find that spec anywhere.

Ya, I saw those posts too on the Raptor forum.

I was lazy and it was dark out, so checked this AM and they look like 108mm ID for the rims, and I believe the 4Runner hub is 106mm? There is definitely a gap between the rim and the hub.

Hope that's right, I ordered the 106/108 and 106/110 sets last night on Amazon ! It looks like the 106/108 will work fine.

I'll report back later this week.
