Stock Speaker Problem

I just bought a 2007 4runner and the only problem the vehicle has is that the driver side speaker is very quite. When i change the balance, the speaker barely produces a sound. Can someone please tell me what is going on here?

Impossible to tell over the net.

Could be a bad wire or ground. Could also be the speaker or even the head unit.

Good, that should at least be easier to troubleshoot. The stock speakers are garbage, it's most likely the speaker is toast, they're just electromagnets. I would try swapping the front 2 speakers and see if the problem moves with the speaker. If not, then it's the head unit
