Stock SR5 wheels clear coat peeling/chipping

Hi guys, I have a 2011 SR5, bought it in Dec 2015. Love this thing, it has 125K miles on it right now with no issues at all. Only thing is I noticed a few days ago just randomly, that it looks like my clear coat on JUST THE DRIVER SIDE wheels is peeling and chipping off. The passenger side is totally fine. What's also odd is that it looks like the chipping is starting from the lugs.

I'd guess brake fluid is pretty corrosive, but I don't think it's leaking at all since my brake fluid level seems pretty normal. It also seems odd that it's on both wheels on the driver's side. I also can't imagine how brake fluid would be seeping from where the lugs are.

Any suggestions on what might be causing it? I did a search but nothing came up on the 5th gen wheels, although I saw it was a thing on the 4th gen's. Also odd that again, it's just both driver's side. If something was truly wrong with the wheels, i'd imagine it would be on all 4 wheels by now. Any help? thanks

Wheels have a clear coat, when rotating tires if the shop is slinging the metal tip torque gun around they may have caused a crack/dent in the clear coat. After 125k miles road grim, water, salt can get behind the surface of the clear coat and it will eventually become brittle and start to flake off. Once that happens it is a progression across the whole wheel emanating from the lug holes. Perfect opportunity to have them powder coated, sprayed with derp or replaced. I've seen SR5 take off wheels for $50, or go aftermarket, tons of great choices.
