Hello, I am trying to figure out the specs of my stock head unit in my 99 limited 4runner because I need to replace the front speakers because they are gone. I have looked absolutely everywhere and even called toyota customer service and dealerships. So I was wondering maybe someone here can enlighten me with what my Power Handling specs are for my head unit and any recommendations on what speaker+tweeter combo would be a great match to run with my stock unit.

It depends on which one you have. Either way though, they don't put out much. I would buy a new headunit along with the speakers. There you'll get WAY more sound improvement.

In the limited I have 6 speakers total, two of which are my tweeters on top portion of the door. The whole system is a JBL and my head unit I THINK not sure is a dolby...but I did finally come up with the part number, just no specifications come up for it AT ALL. Part number--86120-35170

Would you by any chance have an estimate of the RMS power handling?

Does your head unit have the CD player and cassette player combo like the one in the pic below? It's probably the same unit I have in mine.

If you go to crutchfield.com, you can click "outfit my car" and put in your year, make, model, and type of head unit and it will show you the head units and speakers that will fit. Some will be marked as "fit" meaning they are a direct replacement, some will be marked as "modified" or "custom" meaning they will fit but probably need some sort of bracket or adapter. You don't have to buy from them to get this.

Below are some makes and models that say they will "fit" the front door speakers:

I was thinking of maybe getting these JBL's because not only do I already have them and love them in my car, I have a home system with it too. I am just wondering if the Power Handling is a little too much on these and if they were to sound good with my stock head unit?

If those would not be a good match, what would be a pretty dang good match for an all around speaker in my car, avoiding JL audio because they are way too expensive.

I have the Kenwood KCF 1693PS and could not be happier with them
