stock toyota locker axels from other toyotas

ok so instead of paying a bunch of money to have a locker installed what other vehicles have lockers i could just take entire axel out of it and slide it under my 86? im pretty sure 3ed gen runners have them tacomas? t100s?
this should not be a problem will it?

Not a problem at all. It was an option on rigs with the offroad package. Make sure the gearing matches.

Those are all e-lockers and for the price for all the parts you need plus Fab it'll be way cheaper to buy a lockrite and install it yourself

Not all 3rd Gens had the locker, and the gears will depend on which engine/transmission combo it had.

you want to find an elocker and axle from a tacoma and not a 4runner

tacomas have leaf springs vs 4runner coil spring
since you have a leaf spring rear end the axle from a tacoma will be easier to swap over but it will also be wider so wheel spacers for the front will be needed if you want it to be even

im sure you have 4.10 and alot of taco with elockers are 4.10 or 4.30

its gonna have the electronic module on the outside of the diff as seen on the right. alll ya gotta do is take a peak under the truck. then check to make sure it has all the wiring, if not its not a huge deal, there are plenty of elocker wiring options
