**STOLEN** 1987 Toyota 4runner in SoCal

As has been stated, a kill switch is a very easy way to slow down a thief. You can tap into the ignition wire, the fuel pump, or you can easily pull the EFI fuse .

I also have a shifter lock on my 90'. If you have a manual transmission , you should be able to put your tranny in reverse, and engage your transfer case in 4lo , and lock the two shifters together. Just takes a welder and a link of chain to do ....

Sorry, can you clarify? If I pull the EFI fuse you're saying they can get around that?

Im on the road in MO and IL looking for it. I read a thread recently where a friend lost his standup jetski in big surf and it eventually washed up. Hope she comes back intact.

Dude weirdest story.... so all week I've been working with neighbors getting security footage and was able to get their general direction down a couple streets. I blew it up on facebook, instagram, Craigslist, etc.... then my wives uncle was driving from my wives grandmas house and spotted it a couple streets over parked and called my wife.

I was at work at the time so I left immediately. Got to the location and the police were there already.... the house it was parked in front was supppeerrrr shady and there were a couple of older cars (a previa and a civic) with Washington plates but the sheriff didn't seem too interested to question them. I got pictures of all the cars license plates at that house but didn't see that focus. Signed the police report and drove it back home. Definitely gonna keep tabs on that house and if I see that focus I swear Imma go medieval on their ass.

Nothing valuable was in the truck so nothing was really taken except for my TRD shift knob that I got for Xmas my Marlin crawler tcase shift knob and my stereo face plate but not the radio itself [emoji28] about $3-5 of change and a car charger.... oh and they left me their wheels in the truck (a skateboard)... lucky lucky indeed..... Looks like the used a good size flat tip screwdriver to break my ignition switch. Dunno about the door tho. No damage to that so I'm thinking a shaved key or something. Gonna probably rekey soon so not afraid to share lol

I had a Toyota pickup stolen (think it was an 87). Got it back without a scratch on it but the tools were gone.

I was glad they didn't destroy it trying to hot wire it like some I've seen.

Very easy to steal. Have to check out how hard it is to steal a 91 like I'm looking at...

You don't have to change your door locks
Once he changes the ignition switch a lock smith can reset the tumblers in the doors to match the new key. Costs about $100 around here
I had it done in a civic I used to have when I changed my ignition switch cause it was bad
