I have been ignoring a minor issue that my truck has, but figured I would ask you guys if you are familiar with it.
My 1989 V6 seems to have a strange start up/cranking:
When I first start the truck, for the very first time of the day, say every morning, it takes about 3 seconds of normal cranking and then starts up and idles fine, no issues.
From that point on for the rest of the day, whether warm or cold the engine cranks funny. Sometimes it starts the exact moment I turn the key, no crank time, boom, it starts. Other times it wants to start instantly, fails to, and then the starter or engine seems to hesitate/skip/stumble, and then it starts. Sometimes to the point where I think the truck started, let go of the key, only to realize it never truly turned over.
It is very hard to explain, maybe I will have to take a video if this doesn't ring a bell for anyone.
It is almost lke it almost instantly starts, so the cranking noise disappears, but it stumbles and I have to hold the key, or do it again because I let go to quickly (because it seemed as though it started).
Once the truck starts it always idles smooth without issues and no stalling.
Does that make sense to anyone?
