Strange front brake issue

I've been searching with out much luck, but I'm having a weird brake issue.
It's done this twice and both times turning right, either very lightly braking or not braking at all, and the front driver's side wheel ABS engages.
I can hear the tire kind of skid, then it makes what I think is the ABS engaging sound and the traction control light flashes and beeps at me.

Other things I've noticed about the brakes, they seem ok, but a bit mushy and then grabby at the very end. I just have alway thought it was normal, just different from my 2008 Tundra I had previously.

I've also noticed, my front brake dust A LOT. So much that someone asked me the other day if my front wheels were different colors from the rear.
Don't know if that's part of my situation, but I thought I'd mention it.

Perhaps the piston(s) in the caliper(s) is locking up causing the pads to hang up on the rotor. Perhaps ABS sensor(s) as well. Shouldn't be to hard to check those things.

Kind of what I'm thinking. I'm going to raise the front and see how hard it is to turn the wheels. The truck has 163,000 miles, so I guess anything is possible.
I've had a caliper does this on a motorcycle front brake. Locked up on me at 70 mph. Didn't end well.
If I've got a bad caliper, I might as well do the tundra brake upgrade :rockon:

good time to bleed the brakes and do a TBU! excuses excuses. its all we need to upgrade the truck!

yes your lucky, those are the only factory 16s that clear the TBU!

Just to add my experiences, I have had a similar experience (with Tundra brakes for reference, not that it is relevant). The cause of mine was a seized piston in my driver side caliper. It was not completely seized, but with light braking pressure, it wouldn't move, giving both poor braking and the pulsing that you mention. Once I put a little more foot into it, the piston would break free and work, giving me a jolt of braking power and no more seizing....for a while.

I have a replacement set of calipers coming this week to fix my problem, but pulling the seized one off and unseizing it fixed the strange pulsing and poor braking issue as a temporary measure.
