Strange wire near center console

I just found this wire when I replaced my 12v adapter. It appears to be broken and it is slightly narrower than your normal 12v adapter port. Also it is plugged into a six pin wire connector.

What the hell is this? Trailer lights switch, self destruction button? Any ideas, suggestions are welcome.

I Googled H8123-C2 and didn't come up with anything. Any black helicopters hovering overhead.
 
Factory with JBL sub and amp. This was originally installed in that little compartment next to shifter where most have their 12v adapters.
 
So there are two LEDs on it, and is that a push button in the center?

Can you identify what the connector wires to? Does the connector looks factory or different color or type?

It doesn't look factory, is it the innards of a passport smart cord maybe or alarm control unit?
 
i cant tell if that is a switch or a metal contact point. if it is a contact point it might have been a 12volt cig plug minus the sleeve.
can you take pictures of where the wires meet up with the factory wiring?
 
I will take additional photos once I get home. This switch is partially broken so the button is missing, but it does appear to have on/off function as indicated by the presence of LEDs. it was actually mounted into a small cylinder slightly narrower than a cig lighter/12v adapter. I have a feeling that someone pushed it too hard and it broke. It appears to be factory mounted as it fits into a 6pin adapter.

I should probably turn on the engine and see what it does.....:-)
 
Ok. So it looks like this is attached to my stock stereo with a six pin cable. Also at some point in time was attached to that small cylinder. When the engine is on it emits a blue light....when presses my stereo beeps and it sounds like only the center speaker is on. This leads me to believe that it may have something to do with bluetooth/phone on/off switch?

definitely doesn't look factory, the factory bluetooth controls are located on the steering wheel for the vehicles that come equipped with bluetooth. Could be an aftermarket bluetooth setup but I would begin to be able to tell you what kind or how to sync to it.
 
It is narrower than the standard 12v adapter. When I bought the truck the metal cylinder than housed the switch/button was empty and when I tried to plug in my phone charger it was too narrow. When I removed the console I found this cable...I installed my new 12v adapter but this cable is still plugged in. No idea what it does...:-)
 
Seriously??? Nobody knows what that is?? Come on guys! Its the new IOS 1.21 Jiggawatt Flux Capacitor!!! Hubo, be very careful!! Don't get stuck in the space time continuum!

right. thats why i was thinking something else is stuck in it.
like an outer shell of some weird plug. it would make the ID smaller.

but, i was just throwing it out there, its really hard to tell without having it i hand.

Nevada, both the silver plug and this plug actually seem to fit together well, but the actual button is missing.

Im surprised that nobody has one or something similar in their truck
 
Is the outer diameter of the threaded looking area about 16-18mm? That looks strikingly like some of the halo light switches that we install. Like these from Oznium.

BumpertoBumper.....that looks pretty damn close, especially the threaded cylinder. What are these for? Also do they connect into a 6pin cable adapter/port?

They can be used either as an indicator light, or as a push button switch (both lock-on or momentary switches)
