Stretch's 87 4Runner - Easy E

Showed up at DPG with the talent tank on E. Guess the gauge was broken.

Hit the garage this morning to begin working on it to assess the damage and lose some weight and now it sits looking like this while I prep it for Harlan in a few weeks.

I'll do a write-up this weekend :boink:
:clap2: perfect!

Looks better now :yo:
LOL. Thanks. I really enjoyed my windshield and doors on rainy trips. Time to just mash the rest of the metal in around the cage now for full raisin look.

Well I have my work cut out for me to make it to Harlan in a few weeks. Pulled the trigger and have parts on the way from Amazon, Jegs, Summit and Trail Gear.

- Relocating the battery to the back behind the passenger seat.
- Rewiring all of the lights while I am at it with distribution blocks up on the firewall. I've already relocated the under hood fuse box and all the electrical stuff on the passenger side to the firewall and removed the remaining AC parts and wiper motor. (Provisions in case I cut the inner fenders out and tube the front later on)
- Adding some LED's up front for night riding. The Hella's were dull and the little 6pod LED I used on the winch wasnt much help either.
-12gal fuel cell, E2000 pump and all associated lines and fittings.
-Picked up a stick of tube from ECGS and will be finishing out the windshield area of the cage since there isn't currently a brace between the A Pillars since PJ and I weren't sure when he built it what I was going to do with the dash.
-Steel hawse fairlead since my current roller one is a rock anchor and gets bent up every ride.

Just needs fuel and an air filter and the ol shitmissile will be ready to fire up. Bumped the key just to make sure the fuel pump came on.

She runs and drives. Got the last bit done today and went for a cruise around the house on some 2 lanes. Drive flanges and a square front shaft get bad around 40  ran it up to about 50 on GPS before steering got a bit twitchy. Gonna hit all the nuts and bolts one more time but it's ready for Harlan next weekend. My clicking birf has lasted a few trips now so part of me is hoping it lets go on Saturday of the trip so I can finally warranty it. Nitro won't do it til actually kersplodes.

Awesome trip and we covered a lot of ground.

Friday: Railbed Waterfall, Pinball, Railbed, Fish Fossil, Killin Time, Lower Damnation, Crawfords Cry, Trouble, Whitetail 2x then ran Lower Damnation, Grapevine and Middle Rock Garden at night

Saturday: Mason Jar, Lions Den, Big Perm/Valve Stem, Grapevine, Middle Rock Garden. Then we went out after dinner and I rode with Sam and we hit (and made) the waterfall, CreamPuff, Little Jagger, Lower Damnation again and decided to call it a night around 1:30AM

I broke another chromo on Grapevine on Saturday, but am pretty sure I did the damage just before as I was turning around on the access road at the top of Big Perm/Valve Stem watching everyone beat the hell out of that exit. Broke the carninal rule of backing up a hill in 4wd. Pinned the drivers front and heard a pop. Pulled up into Grapevine and she was 3 wheel peelin' it.

Awesome trip. Gonna warranty the Nitro shaft, get some RCV's to swap in and keep the Nitro's as spares. Fix a TCase mount and roll out for the next one.

Awesome pictures! What are you using for a fuel pick up in that cell?

Thanks! It was a damn good trip for sure.

There is an aluminum tube that drops from the pickup fitting to the back passenger corner of the cell. Came that way so I am running it for now. I have a buddy 10 minutes from me that has been running the same style cell/pickup/prefilter/pump setup for a few years now without issue so I just copied that.
