Stripping powdercoated wheels

The wheels are black 8069s. Does anyone have experience with this. Is this something thats DIY friendly? . I was thinking of stripping them and then adding a clear coat. Is this something that an be done without removing the tires

Are they factory 8068 painted?

I only ask because most factory wheels are actually anodized paint onto the metal which is different then powder-coating.

Powder-coated wheels would have been done after manufacture by the previous owner.

Either way I'd suggest sand blasting them.

gloss black pro-comp 8069 wheels. I contacted procomp asking about the type of paint but havent received a reply just yet.
