Struts/shocks are gone?

Hi

How can I tell if the struts or shocks on my 4runner needs to be replaced. I have the 4runner for about 2 years now and the previous owner never driven it off-road, neither have I. It's got 125,000 km (80,000 miles). My previous vehicles were are regular cars so I don't know how the suspension of a truck based SUV should be. When I press down on the front bumper it goes down and bounces back more than once.

Any advice or feedback would be appreciate.

it fails your bounce test

also, get under there and look to see if the oil has run out of any of them

one of mine, on the front, gave up, leaked its oil out, around 100K miles
