Stupid Question Needs Answer

Ok look I know that this has been raped and battered but i have a tiny question. Ive looked around and there has been no answer to this. I want to buy shocks There are a pair of rear shock on ebay from a 2005 toyota tundra and I have a 4runner 1998 limited. NOW CAN THE SHOCKS THAT ARE "NOT" TRD FROM A 2005 TUNDRA FIT A 1998 4RUNNER LIMITED?!?!?!?! PLEASE ADVISE I WILL BE TRULY GRATEFUL :hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:

You have it wrong. FRONT tundra shocks fit the FRONT of a 4Runner. And yes, non TRD FRONT shocks will still work on the FRONT of your 4Runner.

ok so Im looking for FRONT tundra shocks for a baby lift right?

Front Tundra TRD's should net you about 2" of lift. Not sure how much you'll gain from the non-TRD's.

The lift comes from the TRD coils, not the shocks.

well if he's doing the fronts he may just mean the assy, could be the shock assy to him... or maybe your right and he just means the shocks...i'm confused, lol

if you use the complete coil over assy from the front of a turndra in the front of your 4runner you will get lift, if you just use the shocks by themselves without the coils you can damage the shocks and won't get any lift...

the coil lifts and supports the weight of the truck and the shock dampens the shock and movements of the vehicle, that's as simple as it can be made, coils lift the truck not shocks, you get longer shocks to go with a taller coil, which is the part actually lifting the truck.:thumb3:
