Stupid window tint...

Rims & tires came in at the local shop so I went by to look at them (at night) when I came out, obviously another vehicle had parked behind me and I didn't notice...

That sucks! Isn't that plastic in that spot? Maybe it will just pop out.

Ouch man that sucks...

You have to be much more observant when you make the call to have tint. I always check things like that every time I get into my truck. At least it was a car and not someone's kid that you didn't see.

Isn't your tint only 5% in back and 35% in front though?

Well, it's cracked pretty bad and it's deep as hell. Even if it were to pop out, it'd still look like shit. I ordered a new bumper this morning though. :bigok:

Just gotta drive a round with a big dent for a few days..

Yeah I don't know why I didn't even think to look, the guy was parked on the side, not even in a parking spot, but yeah I'm usually careful as hell and a lot of times I roll my back window down.

On all rear windows I've got 20% with 5% over that. On the front it's just 35%, but soon I'll be getting another layer of 20%, and maybe 50% on the front windshield.

So are you in it for his car too, I mean he wasn't legally parked right?

The funny thing is.. it didn't even put a scratch on his truck.. it was a chevy truck and I hit the chrome front bumper. Lucky for me, or I would've been paying for two bumpers.

Sorry to hear about your accident! Like you said, at least you don't have to fix anything on the other truck.

hit and run? that is not that bad of the damage, why did u even double tint the windows, lesson learned?? i need to get mines tinted, just need the money.

So you blame it on the tint but youre going darker? Did I miss something?

Man you need a reverse beeper it can get annoying but it has saved me more than once from hitting stuff especailly with my window tint also at night just roll down the windows while backing up. Both are ways that keep my bumper safe even with window tint at night.

:( that sucks, bud. youre def gonna need a new bumper. make sure you get the oem version and not some refurb fakey tha tinsurance companies sometimes try to skirt by you (assuming your policy is ok)

given my 4runner is my beater car, i end up parking it in downtown bar areas most weekends im in town... sucks to deal with all the drunkards and angry fuqs hatin' life. vandalism absolutely happens, people don't take ownership for errors on their part..

it call comes down to parenting

Been there, done that. The paint if you drop it off and install the bumper yourself shouldn't be much more than $250.

The bumper will fit in your truck once you take it out of that huge damn box.

I would never leave the scene of an accident that I had caused, I'm not like that. I told that employees at the shop and they came out there and looked at the truck with me, and no one could find any damage. I told them to tell the guy if he noticed something later to get in contact with me. The reason I got another layer of tint is because 20 was no where near dark enough. You could clearly see threw it.

The thread title is more or less a joke, it's my own fault, not the tint. I never even expected a vehicle to be parked behind me. Didn't notice it when I pulled in either.

My windows are twice as dark as his, give him a break. He just had bad luck, shit happens.
