Awesome build. I'm digging it! I'm actually curious now though... I was going to get the light load 2895e OME coils to raise the rear of my truck and also compensate for some light loads but eventually I am going to get a RTT & I already have a gobi on order, so you've got me thinking I should opt for the medium OME coils instead of the light duty ones... I'm never getting a bumper or super heavy mods back there so I'm just not sure if the 2895E's are up to snuff with my future setup...

Solid build and awesome IG, I'm following you now & I am pretty heavy into IG but mostly for bicycle pictures haha

Thanks man! It's been a blast building the runner and even more fun adventuring it. I have met a lot of wonderful people in this community of overlanding.

As for springs, I don't think it would hurt at all to go ahead and get the mediums. They are rated for 200-400lbs over stock. You already have the 3rd row and a RTT is 110lbs + that steel baja rack is easily another 100lbs. Mine is a little rough with the heavy springs, that are rated at +440lbs over stock, when not loaded but oh so sweet when at expedition weight at around +350-400lbs of stuff. Also throw in an OME 10mm spacer on the driver side rear to help compensate for the toyota lean. But honestly rear springs are cheap and easy to switch out so you could always move up when you need and sell the old.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The thing to remember is that this is my wife's DD... Haha so I didn't want her to hate the harsh rear end ride when it's just her BUT it's very unlikely that she would even notice because she doesn't ever notice stuff like that. I do plan on getting the 10mm trim packer too because I already have a 0.25inch driver rear lean even with just the 5100's. The 2895e says its for stock to medium loads though, up to 400lbs so maybe I'd be good?

I also wonder with any rear coil taller than that if I can even fit into my garage with the gobi stealth on top too. That's a deal breaker. Hmmmmmm

2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4X4 Mag Gray Build Thread.

I purchased "Riley" about a week or two before Thanksgiving 2014. At the time I was driving a less than a year old 2014 Subaru Outback 5spd. But was having some major issues with the engine burning a quart of oil in less than 1400mi. Yes you read that right fourteen-hundred miles. Through all the research I did it seemed to be a design flaw with their new family of engines. Subaru was having the same issue in its 2.5 and 2.0 engines. There didn't seem to be a good fix and I wasn't game for having a dealer tear down and rebuild a brand new engine. So at that point I was in the market for a new car. I knew I wanted to go back to a trusty Toyota after that experience and I had to have 4x4 or a true AWD. So I looked at the Tacoma and 4Runner. Settled on the 4Runner and couldn't be happier.

This will be my first foray into overlanding. My wife and I are very excited to get out and explore some of the true backroads around Tennessee and the bordering states. At first we won't be able to stray too far from home as I don't get very many vacation days with my job. Probably just Weekend trips but we'll see what it turns into.

I have a mag grey 4runner too..just want to see a pic in good lighting to see how the gunmetal sr8 wheels compare to the mag grey vehicle. yours looks super cool. Thanks in advance

Here is a shot I have of me cleaning the car. Probably the best lighting and cleanest the rig has been in a picture. I have to say if I did wheels again I wouldn't do anything different. The grey of the wheels is a very very close match to the vehicle paint. Looks like they were ment for this vehicle.

Yes the fake beadlock bolts are silver. And SCS imports their wheels in small batches. To get them you usually have to get on the waiting list. I did. But it wasn't a long wait.

Yep 285/70r17 which measure out to be true 33s according to the manufacturers spec

They are the TRD Tundra coils. Not the regular ones. They are progressive rate. If you want pre-built struts contact Sonoran Steel. If you aren't adding too much weight upfront then they are perfect. They did great when I didn't have any extra weight up front and are even nicer now with my winch and hybrid bumper. A second battery may be in my very near future.

So I just realized that I have not posted any Pictures from our Kentucky Adventure Tour trip. Its a big offroad loop(with some pavement of course) in Eastern Kentucky. Covers over 900 miles.
