Subaru field monitor help

Hey guys I recently installed a Subaru gauge pack in my 4Runner and I'm having issues with the compass. It's constantly reading north or north east regardless of which direction I'm heading in. I've read through the manual on how to adjust it and even going through all the settings it has not helped. I figured the location I used wouldn't be a problem because that seems to be where others have installed them without issue. This isnt my 4Runner but this is where I installed mine. Any ideas on what I could do? Thanks.

Installed mine in the same spot. Don't you just push the "adj" button and drive in a few circles? Or if you can't, do a bunch of 90* back ins. I've got a bad battery terminal and have to keep resetting mine, but it sees to be working for me...

I haven't tried that, the manual said that was only necessary if the vehicle icon is flashing but I will give it a try tonight. I tried setting it using this

You should do a one full circle in 1 minute. Make sure to have the unit in calibration mode by pressing the adjust button for few seconds.

That's the correct procedure. Just to let you know that it'll calibrate itself after driving, but that takes a bit.

That should fix your problem. The compass on these is incredibly accurate and sensitive, especially right after you calibrate it using the ADJ button and drive in a few circles. The calibration wears off as time goes by or as you drive over big magnetic bridges or such. So it helps to hit ADJ and re-calibrate once in a while. I enjoy mine!

Update: did the circles and it fixed it. Should have just done it to begin with but here we are. Thanks for the support guys.
