You could have spend $30 on a nice dinner somewhere. Sure, you'll poop it out the next day but at least you'll have a good memory.

Yea I'm wishing I would have read the entire thread before getting excited ad pulling the trigger on it after the first page. :dammit:
 
Any news on eBay disputes on these keys? I haven't done anything.. I'm too busy to deal with it .. although when I think about it. It pisses me off. Extra Partss can suck it.
 
Yeah I got suckered into buying these then lucky read all the way through after the fact....sucks but at least I got my money back....now I just bought regular keys and fobs and will be programming them today....hopefully I can get past the 5 key limit....

I bought the rig with only 1 key and fob. Then programmed the junk. Then bought another set that should hopefully work....will see...
 
Does anyone know of any other all-in-one keyfobs that will work for a 2004? Hoping to find one that will last longer than 36 hours!

Holy Old Thread Batman

For what its worth, I bought 2 of the flip keys from Wholesale 24/7 back in February. Had them cut, programmed them myself. 1 fob needed a new battery after about a month, but otherwise they are still working just fine.

so i went down this road about two months ago. got a single uncut key off ebay for ~$15. worked great for a few days then started crapping out on me. requred daily battery pulls to get working again. seller was kind enough to replace it. the replacement is now failing.

is this a cheap POS from ebay thing? is there a reputable source to obtain these from? i love the single key but i love using the remote more :)

edit: should have read sigepbiker's post above before opening my big mouth. cited the exact ebay seller and situation. i'll be taking the advice on the thread and hope for the best. thanks sigepbiker

Im going to need new keys as well, My truck just came with one.

would it be better to just buy a used oem key off ebay and replace the key part with a new cut one?
 
Just did this mod today using the links provided. Worked like a charm. So grateful to everyone here for sharing the info. The local locksmith was charging $75 just to reprogram the chip and fob. Glad to do it myself!

4 Runner Fob

Hi All,

I have a 5th Generation 4Runner. I am looking for a 4Gen 4Runner key fob. I really don't like having the key and fob all in one key. Does anyone know if I can program the 4Gen key to the 5gen 4runner? Also, would anyone be willing to mail me their old 4thGen key fob?
