Suggest a cheap bluetooth stereo?

I am interested in a replacement stereo for my 1999 base 4runner. I am not crazy into music and everything is stock, except the previous owner put in a Jensen unit. I really don't know the first thing about picking out a stereo. I just want a cheap, basic (not junk) unit that will work with my phone's bluetooth and maybe have a USB plug or two. I don't care about cds or tapes. Can anyone suggest a suitable model? Pic is what is in there now a 45Wx4 jensen, which works fine - I am just tired of all the cables.

I bought this for my t4r, could not be happier. BT pairs in less than 10 seconds (unlike the more expensive POS Kenwood in my VW). Sounds good, has two sets of RCAs, and it's single DIN so I have room for switches.

Just used for bluetooth (pandora from phone) and phone calls. This came with a small mic run through the headliner in the top left corner of my eyeline. It works great. CD player too, but I don't use it much.

They are all pretty cheap now. I have 3 different model pioneer BT units that have BT Microphone, USB, CD... Double DIN and 1 single DIN. All work pretty good and less than $100 on amazon.

I went with a unit from Sonic Electronix, it came with the vehicle specific wiring harness, it's a Panasonic Blue Tooth, USB compatible, no CD, not sure of the model now but it came with the double DIN mounting box all in I think it was $125.00 shipped 2 years ago. couldn't be happier!!

Find the cheapest reputable brand that you can. You'll be fine.
JVC, Pioneer, Panasonic are probably the three most reputable that have options at or below $100.

I would not recommend Jensen or other budget brands.

I haven't had it out in bright sunlight yet, but since the radio is mounted low in the dash in the 4runner I don't think it will be a problem. In fact I found the default brightness level to be too bright so I have turned it down quite a bit.

I bought a Pioneer double DIN but it's not bluetooth. I love it but wish that I wasn't being cheap at the time and spent a couple of extra bucks to purchase the bluetooth instead.

I purchased mine from Sonic Electronix. Here are the BT versions of the one I bought. Didn't really read the description of the two to find out the difference between the two other than price, but it's both less than $150 and you can mix and match and change the colors of the screen.

What is your price range, do you want a touch screen dvd player, or are you ok w/ a plain double DIN or single DIN HU?

My suggestion to you is to visit sonicelectronix.com or crutchfield.com and look at the various stereos they sell. Me personally, my suggestion is Sonic Electronix because they tend to be cheaper than Crutchfield.

Also see my previous post above yours and click on the two links. They are both non touch screen double DIN HUs w/ bluetooth capabilities. If you type in those model numbers on Amazon, they tend to be cheaper also. I have the same unit but 2 previous models before this and it's non bluetooth. Gotta say that I love the unit but wish I would have spent the extra money on the bluetooth capability.

If you want touch screen capability, my suggestion is the Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS which has bluetooth and HD radio capability along w/ a Sirius/XM connection. Love this radio. I just had it recently installed in my wife's Sequoia and she is loving it. Plus it has it's own dedicated backup camera plug in. If you don't care for HD radio but still want bluetooth capability, try the model below it, which is the AVH-X2800BS. Everything is the same minus the HD radio, plus it's several dollars cheaper. These HUs touchscreen are 6.2 inches btw.
