Suggesting front suspensions

Hey my fellow T4Rs,

I would like to get some opinions... I have leak coming from steering rack and pinion, and since that will need to replaced, I might as well replace and upgrade the other things while under there (UCA, Tie Rods, and LBJ ).

My 00' runner is currently on Toytec boss coilovers sitting on 17in countersteer 285/70/17. I've also already bought parts for Tundra Big brake conversion.

What I'm asking for suggesting is:

1. For the Rack & Pinion, would you guys suggest buying a rebuild, new or other form of purchase place?

2. Should I go with OEM LBJ and Tie Rods or upgrade to aftermarket and what kind?

3. UCA, i'm planning on going with total chaos maybe, unless someone suggest better.

I think I might have covered everything that could possibly do all at the same time.. .maybe knuckle too? I haven't looked to see if that is need to replaced, but don't think so.

OEM BJ only

If you're having problems with alignment, any aftermarket upper uniball arm will be fine. TC, camburg, etc.

If you want to maintain an upper arm with a BJ then there is light racing/SPC.

I've been searching Rack and Pinion and do not if its best to go with OEM or other areas like Napa or something. i'm seeing prices ranges from 400 to 600. Any suggestions?

OEM. Comes with new inner tie rods as well, if you buy on their own the tie rods are worth $240. So you are really only paying about $350 for the rack.

I’ve had 2 Napa racks. first was sloppy AF, second, ITRE were shot within a year :-/. get the OEM toyota one.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think you need a new steering rack? Many times I see sloppy steering misdiagnosed as a bad rack, when in fact it's several other contributing factors; slip joint, steering rack bushings, LBJ's, and LCA bushings.

Mine has 297,000 miles on it, and after replacing all of the above, it still feels factory tight.

my f-150 that’s 14 year old has tighter steering( zero slop) than my 4runner and it’s never had any suspension or steering parts replaced.

IFS or SFA? I had a F-250 once. You know how scientists recently discovered the Milky Way is much wider than previously thought? My Ford still had more play in its steering wheel.
