Suggestion: Separate by Generations

Just an idea, but why not separate the site a bit more by generations? It seems like the 4th genners are kind of dominating the boards right now and if I had a 2nd gen, I would get kind of tired of sifting through all of the 4th gen materials. I am probably biased because I used to use the roadfly BMW forums and they were broken down this way.

I imagine separating the old posts would be a hefty chore, but going forward it may actually make this site more useful and build a stronger community for each generation.

We had a suggestion about putting 1st generation in a forum and we decided to put both 1st and 2nd generation in a sub-forum, ie Classic T4R's. We did not move items there, they just doing their own posting and it seems to be working out.

Speaking for myself I don't think it is time to make the 3rd generation models have there own sub-forum. Of course other members should chime in and give their 2 cents.:D

I don't have a 3rd gen, but would prefer if they had a seperate sub-forum. It might attract more 3rd gens over here too. 3rd gens could still post in the rest of the sub-forums that 4th gens dominate, but it just makes sense to have a focused area. Again just my 2 cents and I don't have much of a problem sorting through 3rd gen posts, because there don't seem to be that many yet.

BTW, I love that you guys have an open mind to suggestions and feedback. Thx.

there are alot of issues and discussions that encompass all gen's of 4runners/taco's so splitting it up will not be a wise decision.

yes, there may be specific information only for one generation but in general, all the questions asked usually apply to all gens in one way or another.

also keeping it together will help let others educate themselves in the newer/previous gen of 4runners out there. this is also a great thing about forums as you not only learn about your own vehicle, but also about the other vehicles out there and their history.
