Wrong... mine definitly had a 1/4" rubber spacer between the strut and the tower. metal on metal is nowhere near as good a ride as delrin and it is surly not hard as steel like "streetfighter" thinks. its very hard but is definitly not so hard it would crack. I have used daystar on 3 diferent vehicles since around 2001 (installed all by ME) and not a problem with any off it. My humble opinion is daystar delrin spacer top out only or bilstiens and new coils. adjustable coils are definitley cool but do your research, by the right size coils and no adjustable bilstiens. More cost effective. If steel on steel was a good thing you wouldn't have grommets in your shock mounts. Think about it. Rubber bushings hold the body to the frame as well to help soften the ride. I think toyota would use aluminum if it where better thatn delrin or rubber.
