Sunk the runner this weekend..

haha, it wasn't that deep.. Water only came in through the crevices of the door jams. To my amazement, the door speakers still work fine. I haven't tested out my passenger side rear sub though as it was halfway under water. Been drying out for a while, along with the cargo boxes. Once they dry, I'm going to reseal them again and carpet them. The spots where the MDF got wet caused some bowing of the wood, but not much. I think they'll be ok.

That's a bummer man! Glad to see your were wheeling with some people who were prepared and the recovery was speedy. Here's to hoping to water-related gremlins come out of the woodwork as the rig dries up. The new exhaust will be sweet, I'm sure.

It sucks indeed but I think I've got this thing back to normal. In fact, I think she's running better than she has in a while. The only thing left is to drain the diffs and put the rear cargo boxes back in, but I'm waiting on supplies to carpet them before I do so.

I am just glad we got you out of the woods without having to tow you home!

Oh and you just owe me a beer!

Been there done that, in much muddier water... Had to completely remove my carpet and throw it away.. I am much happier without it. One major difference, my ABS light came on during the event.. my ABS module was mounted in the passenger kick panel just above the floor. I took it apart, and dried it out.. but to no avail, ABS light permanently on now. Guess it was the muddy water?

Anyways, congrats and great pictures!

oh man, I owe you more than that! You and Tim both. If you ever need help with anything, you know who to call. BTW, I can meet up with you somewhere to return your wet vac. I'm not planning on using it anymore lol.

DANG. Just saw this Waldo. That scares me just looking at the pics.

Was definitely a scary site in person. I wish we had a video or pictures with all the doors open, just water gushing out.

Yea, this was just some very clear/blue spring water. No mud involved. I barely shampooed the carpet. I did submerge my cherokee in mud a long time ago when I had it. Had to strip the carpet, it was so nasty. My ABS was on the same day but it cleared the next day. It was DEFINITELY under water though. I guess I just got lucky huh. Muddy water just makes things 10x's worse. That's why I stay away from mud these days, and looks like I'll be staying away from deep water now too :D
