Hi, I have a rattle just above the driver's head that sounds like it is a sunroof part bouncing/rattling/vibrating periodically- it does it periodically riving down the highway. Is there something that I can tighten up in there? I've seen the threads that suggest lubing the parts but I tried that (a while ago so maybe I can't remember correctly) but couldn't even see anything to lube. Is there a cover that is easily removable possibly? I have an 04 with 110K miles. Thanks, Dan.

I'm in the same boat. In fact the dealer that I bought it from had Toyota dealer install a new one for me. It was quiet for the first few days then it was back to usual. So I said F it at least its not leaking. When it rattle I would just open and close it. Seems to work. I've read where some are putting some rubber coupling on the rod that runs along the rail. Not much help from this post. LoL

I had this on my 2003 SE V8...(God, I miss that thing!) and there was a post with pictures of some rubber washer-like rings and some lubricating jelly of some kind

Yup that one.
I figured out what was making the noise on mine. It was the plastic air dam/wind deflector. When the conditions were just right, the thing would vibrate up and down and make the rattling noise. I was on a long trip and heard it and started feeling around up there and found that when I held that piece steady, the noise was eliminated. Stuffed a beanie hat in there and cured it. Maybe the springs that make it pop up are old/weak, allowing it to vibrate enough to make the noise. For now, I will stuff something soft in there and have peace and quiet.
