I tried to fix my sunroof a few weeks back. Stuck in the closed position, but still leaked.
I ended up dropping the whole headliner to clean the water stains. While it was dropped I ran weedeater line through all the drains and they were not clogged at all. So there was obviously an issue with the gasket around the glass.
When I saw this, and that it would not open because the teeth on the motor were stripped, I just put it all back up and used some leftover RTV Gasket Maker to seal the whole way around the top.
It now stays bone dry, even with all the crazy rain last week.
FYI, Harbor Freight sells the black Permatex brand RTV for like $3 vs the $7-$9
at auto shops. I would almost suggest getting some of this and 're-gasketing' anything you thing might be leaking at all, just in case. Cleans up easy if you're quick and blends in great.
