Maybe.
Might be a respray but they did come in that color. Most have faded to look more burgundy than that.
Look inside the engine bay to compare that it's at least close to what it looked like.
It had a 12 digit JDM VIN

That is a neat looking 80 Series. I really miss my 100 Series and greatly regret having sold mine. While I just purchased my 4Runner last week, it was mostly because it is completely original, rust free, has a full service history, and was my sister in laws.
