Super stoked New Owner of 2007 limited 4wd V8

So excited to finally join this forum after luring for like 3 or 4 years.

We Just picked up our 2007 v8 limited yesterday and couldn't be happier. Traded in a 2003 Acura tl type S that I bought new 12 years ago. So it's a big change for my little 3 person family. We shopped for this car for about a year until we found the exact one we wanted. It's Our first Toyota after being Honda people all this time.

We always Wanted an SUV but didn't want a $700/month payment for a new car. Got a good deal on the T4R, a one owner car with 77k miles and super clean and well maintained. Previous owner traded it in for a GX470 so she could haul her grand kids in the third row. Win win all around.

This car checks all the boxes for us. It can tow a lot as you all know. We want to get involved with the RV lifestyle and gEt an ultralight travel trailer, and having the V8 is important for that.

I live in the northeast so snow is an issue. Most importantly is that I feel so much safer in this car with my family in it. I sleep much better at night knowing they are surrounded by Air bags and solid steel and a lot of space. The good crash ratings were a big factor.

I don't plan on doing much to the car. I want to add the OEM navigation and backup camera, as well as some undercoating. It doesn't need anything else.

I plan on keeping this car for a long long time. Thanks for looking and hope to learn and share with you all for many years.

No doubt you have bought many years of dependable service. I am running two daily drivers and have never been left on the side of the road. Being at 198,000 miles proper maintainence has cost about $1500 every other year for the last few years... But I hope to be good for a few years.

Engine and tranny are sound. I've had to replace the ac compressor, do the transfer case actuator seals, timing belt and water pump (x2), and then brakes, calipers, 1 CV axle, and shocks. Im happy, bought my wife a 2005 lest year since working on them is easy and the rig is dependable.

Congrats on the purchase, 4th gen 4Runners are great vehicles. Read up on the stickies but a couple of things to worry about are the 90k timing belt/water pump replacement (realistically you can push it up to 110 or 115k) and cracked exhaust manifolds which produce a somewhat annoying ticking but are otherwise not harmful.

Recommendation: Get some weather tech mats and some extra lights on front for the winter months.

Hint: In deep snow lock the differential at low speeds. Gives you much more control.

Yep, CDL turns off the traction control, particularly the annoying VSC feature that cuts engine power. That's one of the reasons I bought the 2008 Limited V8 - Toyota finally saw fit to put a 'VSC Off' button in.
