I had an 2k 4runner that was supercharged, and I agree, it was great, and I couldn't imagine not having it- until I was hit head on and the truck was totaled. I now have the 04 limited, and I am waiting for the supercharger to be rereleased. I would not expect it to be available for the 05 which has variable valve timing. In order to have forced induction on an engine like that, it would more than likely require the vvti to be disabled, since the valve overlap would actually cause the boost to be pushed out the exhaust valve. I'm not sure how much overlap would be present in this engine, so it might be feasible, but in the case of my Porsche 968, we needed to disable the variocam feature to get the engine to behave with a turbo. I'm not holding out much hope for those idiots over at TRD. If they can't get the regular v8 to work, can you imagine the mess they'd create with the vvti! I remember dealing wit TRD in the early 80s for JDM stuff I had on my series 1 celica, and you could talk to the same person every time, and you could understand them, seems since they went big time, customer service is in the crapper, customer service people hardly speak understandable english!
