Got the grill put on last night. It's been nasty this week and yesterday was the only decent day so I took advantage. Some before and after shots. Just quick phone pics.

Overall, the change in appearance is actually pretty subtle and would probably only be noticeable to the trained eye.
What I like
I like that the 06' style grill looks beefier than the 03' style and gives it a little meaner look.
I like that the grill actually fills up the open cutout from my aftermarket bumper (see dislikes).
What I don't like
While I like the fact that it fills up the hole in the bumper, there are drawbacks to this as well. I mentioned earlier in my build how I didn't like the look of the huge opening caused by the bumper but I did like the accessibility that it gave me to the winch. Well now I can no longer reach my winch clutch through the top of the bumper, but still can through one of the large cutouts in the front of it, but the plug for the controller is no longer accessible without opening the hood.
Which also brings me to dislike #2. The secondary latch release is now a huge PITA to disengage. I have to reach over my bumper hoop, down in between my light bar and grill and back in between my grill and winch to get at it. It's a pretty uncomfortable contortion as I found the best way to do it is sort of with my back to the truck, elbow facing it, and sort of behind me. Thank goodness it isn't something I do every day.
Items of Note:
Many have done different degrees of the "facelift" here, so I'm not going to go into a ton of detail, but there are a few items of note:
-I trimmed the back of the grill to clear the 03' style headlights and panels beneath the lights.
-also needed to trim to clear the bolts and mount bosses for those under headlight trim pieces
-I used a wire coat hanger to form a new connecting rod from the secondary hood latch to the release since this grill is a good bit taller than the old one.
-I also had to modify the back of the grill in order to accept the 03' style "V8" emblem, as it seems the slats on the new grill are deeper.
I guess that's about it. If anybody has any questions regarding this, I'd be glad to answer them. Thanks for looking!

PD, looks good! I see where it can be a PITA sometimes. You should do satoshi grill, move the light bar behind the grill and then the grill will be more noticeable and maybe easier to reach the seconder release latch. Just a though. But i knew all along you would make something good of it.

Yeah, you mentioned it. I noticed it as well. I started to dive into it a little yesterday to try to figure out my approach. Still don't have a solid plan of attack yet. We'll see how goes man.

Thanks brotha! You'll get to see it in person in a couple of days. I do like the way that it looks better than the 03' style and I'm getting used to opening it. I'll be finishing up the Satoshi grill soon, so I'll see which one I like better. That one will be a little shorter.
I don't know that there is really any room for extending that lever arm. That's actually the problem is that it's already so close to the winch. Thanks for the suggestions and offer to help though!

Coming down Dickey Hill:
Encountered a little snag that we were able to rectify with a little trail side repair. A thread conversation I had recently said that in a phone call to Demello, that the "decorative cutouts" in that bumper were not fit for jacking... CBI does not have the problem!

no doubt I don't think I've ever taken that many shots in a wheeling trip. I wanted to make a point this time to get some good ones. Hell the last 3 or 4 trips I've been on I've only received a handful of pictures of my rig. They never give justice to what the terrain is really like but it makes the trip that much better to look back and see the fun!

Good deal! You know that you were missed out there. We needed somebody to show me how to get up Daniels open-open. Next time bro.
I don't know what's going on with these UCA's coming loose on me. You know that I hulk out on those things! We both had them loose the Saturday prior. My UBJ nut as well as his came loose on the ride on the passenger side. We might have hit the same obstacle that jarred them loose. Not sure. I also went in and redone my long pivot bolt nut, the one I'd already lost before... and IT was loose on my driver side after the ride. Even with a lock washer in place. So now I'm not taking any chances. Lock washer and redundant locking nut on both sides.
My front end starting making some odd suspension noise about midway through the ride as well. It ended up going away, but it's concerning all the same. Austin's new Radflo's ride like butter man. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Truly an awesome time.

Thanks bro! Hopefully I'll have it installed before your birthday. I keep going back and forth on it because I'm so picky and I don't want to install it until I'm totally happy with it.
