Thanks brother! Nah, I'm not gonna get another pet until the kids ask me for one of their own and they are responsible enough to care for it. I wish to only endure so much heartbreak in this life. We've still actually got a small Yorkie, but he lives with my in-laws... He's basically become their dog.

Hope you and your family are well! How's the project we were talking about moving along?

Sorry to hear about Baxter :( What a long full live, in deed! What a lucky boy he was.

Congrats on the new baby coming too! Such exciting news :)

I hear ya bro that's a good plan. I had a dog when i was younger so i know the feeling. I wish we could have another dog now but it's just not practical living in the city (for us or the dog IMO) not enough space in our apartment for a medium to bigger sized dog only little guys, plus no back yard.

Yeah family is all good man thanks for asking! Hope you and yours is doing well as well aside from Baxter.

Project is in motion, I actually have the FJ 3rd Elocker member rebuilt with 4.56s sitting in my dinning room haha and the front clamshell just arrived at my buddies today who's helping me do the instal. Because he already has his old clamshell pulled that he blew so he's going to send that back the them as a core. All i need to do now is order the wire harness and get the two longer studs. Then it's just up to mother nature since we'll be doing it in his driveway lol So idk it might not be getting done until it get a little warmer towards spring time unless i can find a shop in CT that i can do it in?...

I like them. Don't know if you read the blurb I wrote from when I first got them, but they look just like the Method Standards, but they are cheaper and they are made in the USA while the Methods are made in China, which is pretty ironic. Also, they are made right down the road from me in the town that I currently live in, so I'm supporting a local business. No complaints at all really.

Yeah, I don't like their center caps at all. I really don't like any that stick out. Eventually I was planning on printing some flat caps if I ever could pull the trigger on a 3D printer. I've also entertained the idea of trying to source some off the shelf. For now, I just haven't been too worried about it. Just too much going on to fool with the truck really. I'll elaborate my next post.

Hope that helps. LMK if you have any more questions.

thanks for the reply!! I picked a set up myself :D. also i am very sorry to hear about baxter. losing an animal is so hard. Been there and know the feeling. but you have an new family member to look forward to so congrats man!!!

Sorry about the old pup man, I know what you mean as we lost our 12 year old lab a year ago. But really congrats on the kid man! Will be great to bring another little Yota head into the world.

sidenote...love the wheels

I think if I had to do this again an didn't have the luxury of a lift I'd just drop the axle. Taking it to a bench to work with where I could easily drill and grind the housing. May help with the outdoor ordeal. At least the worst parts over.. rebuilding the third lol.

Well it's funny you should say that. Since the post above things have changed a bit, for the better of course! My other buddy is upgrading his FJ rear from 8'' to the 8.2" and his original differential housing is up for grabs. So i will be grabbing that up which is going to make life a lot easier now! Now i just to instal the new 3rd that i have into his housing and swap it out with my rear :thumb: I'm hoping we can do that and swap the front out to all in one day, but as i've learned many many times i don't like to set times for things to be done because 9 times out of 10 it always takes longer than expected  Yep ECGS re built both the 3rd and the front clamshell, I figured let the pros do that part and at least they'll warranty it..

208K mile update

Just providing an update on everything, as it's been maybe 6 or more months since I've done so. I'm posting on the boards far less frequently, but I check in on you guys all the time. Frankly I don't do much to the truck now a days except drive it and maintain it, so there's nothing really exciting to report on that front.

4RUNNER

Truck is sitting at over 208K miles. I still drive it daily for now. I still love it. Maintenance I've done since the last update:

- Cleaned my air filter and changed the cabin filter
- Wiper blades
- Oil change
- Throttle body and MAF cleaning
- Greased a bajillion zerk fittings
- Changed the PCV valve. Needed a bigger adjustable wrench than I had to do this. That thing was on there. Old one didn't appear to have any issues. Just did it to do it really. Seems like that's the case a lot of times with this vehicle.
- Changed a bunch of exterior bulbs to LEDs (Reverse, Tail, Parking, Blinkers)
- Front brake job. For the price of what a shop would charge me to swap pads and mic/turn rotors, I can buy nice brand new drilled and slotted rotors and pads and do it myself. No brainer for me.

That's really it for the truck. Just little things to keep her tip top. No wheeling, no modding. Though I have gotten the opportunity to do some winch recoveries, so yay! Sorry no pic, but she looks the same as the last time.

LIFE

Been a whirlwind for us on this front.

- We moved into our new house back in September.
- My wife and I both started new jobs late last year, which we are both enjoying.
- Took my princesses on a Disney vacation followed by a beach trip in the past couple of months.
- Baby boy is due July 24th, but all signs point to an early arrival. Our daughter came a couple weeks early as well.
- As somebody who waited later in life to start a family, I recently decided to make some lifestyle changes. As somebody who has always made physical fitness a part of his life, I took a step back to really decide that I wanted to make better choices regarding my health. I want to be there for my children and I'm certainly not getting any younger. I decided to revamp my eating habits, ramped up my exercise routine, and with the help of a product introduced to me by a friend of mine, I find myself feeling the best I ever have and in the best shape of my life as I'm nearing 40. Even better than when I was a late teen, early 20's, hard charging Marine.

At the risk of sounding "commercial-y", If anybody is truly interested in a product I fully believe in and wants to improve their quality of life. I urge to the check out this link. I'd be happy to try and answer any questions for you. I've got my whole family (immediate and extended) on this and some friends and colleagues.

MUSTANG

And finally an update on my toy car situation. I traded the silver Fox Body Mustang drag car back in December. Cool car, but wasn't right for my purposes. Wound up trading for this 98 Cobra, that was in okay shape when I got it, but with a little love and wrench time, I got this thing cherry:

Then I proceeded to sell said car back April . Again, neat, fun little car, just not right for me. Which I already knew this going in. I'm not a Ford (or any domestic brand) guy. I'm just not.

So after a lot of research, I finally put in an order for a new car back in May. It will be the first brand new and built to order car I've ever bought. A 2017 model. It is now set to arrive on July 5th but possibly sooner. I don't think I could possibly be more excited. This will be my new DD, but of course, the 4Runner isn't going anywhere. It will be a pretty big departure from the truck and the new car is highly modifiable from what I've seen, which will certainly end up becoming dangerous. Sorry for the teaser.... Stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping in and checking me out!

If i was forced to own a Ford, that cobra would be it, LOL. Can't wait to see what's coming next!

Yeah, I was pretty much forced to own (gifted) the red cobra, which led to the silver fox, which led to the black Cobra. After working on and owning three Mustangs in the matter of about 7 months or so, I was done. Just not what I wanted.

She's here!!!
