suspension advice

alright so my stock shocks are blown and im wantin to get a lift (3''). i want my rig to be the perfect bug out/camping/recovery vehicle. my t4r is my daily driver but i want it to be capable for almost anything, any suggestions on what set up to go with? i was thinkin either the full OME set up or the ss 1.2, whichever i choose, i want it to last for a while! thanks!

I had the full OME kit on one of my 2nd Gen's and was very pleased with it. It rides nice on the road, and works well off the road. I didn't have the truck long enough to check the durability of the suspension, but their reputation is extremely solid for making top-quality items that last. I wouldn't hesitate going with them again.

yea i read that, thanks though. thats where i got the idea for the OME lift.just wanted to see which one people like better. the one you showed me is what im lookin at.

The OME is very good stuff, typically better ride and handling than new and a modest amount of lift.

Can't go wrong with adjustable CO's if you have the money. Typically they have a higher spring rate allowing you to add a bumper/winch without sagging too badly. Plus, they are adjustable so you can compensate for a little sag.

For the rear, it depends on if you are going to have a lot of weight back there. I used to run OME 891's but they ended up sagging too mcuh for my liking. I swapped those for LC coils with 175,000 miles on them. They create a bit of a rake, but are nice when loaded down.

Mine was a 2" lift, which is the only one I've seen for my Gen. Rocky-Road.com has a lot of info on the different OME kits, as well as separate articles on the springs and shocks and how they're built, etc.. 4by4Connection also offers the OME parts and kits at competitive prices.
