Suspension install

Someone mentioned a shop in Lake Paris or some where out there one time, I remember they had good pricing, I dont remember their info, anyone?

BTW dude we just gave you the 2nd opinion. Call YotaMasters, only 30 mins from you. They are TOYOTA specialists. I cannot emphasize how much a difference that makes.

Don't "drive it till it makes noise" that noise will be it grinding apart. Sure a few weeks of driving is no big deal but I wouldn't push it.

You only have to do one side but go ahead and do both the inner and outer boots. I paid the The Truck Shop in San Diego like $200 to fully reboot (OEM), clean out and regrease a single side, inner and outer. That includes removing them from the Truck etc, everything.

Very cool. It'd be a PITA arranging transportation to and from there but that could be the ticket. My preference would be to re-boot both sides and be done with it, end of story, no worries, let's go drive out to Moab so I can finally do Elephant Hill Trail.

I had the boot fail on one side then FOUR years later the boots on the other side failed. And that is with me wheeling several times a year.

Replace both sides if you want (more cash) but since each side is independent you'd be fine just waiting. Again I definitely recommend doing the inner & outer (on one side) together when you decide to fix it.

Buy the Toyota boot kit online to save cash.

I did elephant hill. Did you see my pics? Great times. I want to go back. The more the merrier.

Not yet, I'm actually still waiting to receive the parts, being built by Fox.

I have someone that has offered to help with the install, so I hopefully won't be going to a shop.

Not sure yet, I was thinking of calling Yotamasters for a quote. While my 6112s will be in tomorrow...The 5160s won't be in for a while, backordered :(

My front Bilsteins came in today. I was thinking, if I wanted to do it myself, I'd have to clear out a bunch of my wife's projects out of the garage. That's not happening. I'm calling around for estimates, Yotamasters must be busy, had to leave a message.

Can't do it in the driveway? Shouldn't take too long since the 6112s are already assembled. Hell, even not assembled it only took me maybe 45 mins to swap the shocks/springs.
 
I got a call back from Yotamasters, $300 for fronts only. $500 for front and rear. I'd like to do it myself, so I'm going to get some jack stands and any tools I don't already have. I'd imagine that it isn't too expensive to rent a spring compressor.

Don't need a spring compressor. Drop the two bolts on the lower control arm by the ball joint, loosen the cam bolts (mark your cam positions) and drop it down with a jack. It's super easy. I watched a couple youtube videos (good no compressor install) before I did it, but it was way easier than I expected it to be.
