Suspension Noob Question - Is This Tacoma TRD Setup a Direct Swap?

I am trying to buy a set of TRD Pro fronts with UCA's off of a 2019 Tacoma with less than 1000 miles on them, so I am stoked to hear you love yours! I figure my '06 V6 2wd should see about 2-2.5" lift from what I've read, but I can't find whether swapping the UCA's is needed to maintain alignment spec or not. I figure with mine having 170k on them, it probably isn't a bad idea anyway, right?

You're getting the TRDPRO front suspension for $150? From a 2019, with the remote reservoir? Definitely post up pics of that setup!

I am Interested to see if the "FOX" Pro TACOMA set up requires Any Grinding to front lower mount for the LCA. Is Rear Lower Bushing Swap Possible on Fox series? Any Drilling To Rear upper frame mount to make bigger required?

I didn’t change my UCAs but agree you might as well with that deal. Let us know how it turns out.

No remote res, so just misinformation on my part LOL, but coilover assembly and UCA's for $150. The ad reads "2019 Tacoma TRD Off-road front coils and upper control arms. 500 miles on everything."

Unfortunately they got sold before I was able to make the few hours drive to get them, so I am back looking again.:frusty:

Also went through with it. Started with 2nd Gen Tacoma fronts and subsequently have found 3rd Gen which I am led to believe provide an additional inch of lift. Those are still yet to be installed but I love the 2nd Gen TRD Offroad stuff I have on there now!

Did you ever get around to installing the 3rd gen fronts? I finally was able to put a deal together, so am going this week to pick up 3rd gen 2016 TRD Tacoma front coils, all 4 Bilstein shocks and UCA's that were taken off with 12k miles. I figure about 2-2.5" lift on the front of my V6 2wd, maybe more since the front is sagging a good amount as it is. I'm thinking of just doing the front first so I can see how much I want/need to lift the rear for the slight rake I want and then order springs accordingly. Any tips or thoughts on that plan that I may have missed in looking through all of these threads LOL?

I am planning on swapping the UCA's from the newer Taco when I do the springs and shocks, just because they are so much newer and with less miles than mine. I remember seeing somewhere that though the UCA itself is the same, it uses a slightly smaller ball joint, but I can't seem to find the thread or post that I saw this in. Anyone have any input on this?

Finally made the 4 hour round trip drive today and got the setup from a 2016 TRD OR4x4 with only 12k miles, and dude’s truck was nicely kept so I have no worries about these...$150 well spent I’d say! Hopefully thanksgiving weekend will give me time to at least do the fronts and see what springs I want to get for the rear.

Any updates from those that have done this? Is the rear soft like others have stated? If so, would a firmer sprint like OME 895 help?

No, the rear is not soft. This setup has been golden on and off the pavement for 21 months & 41K miles since I went that route. Anything on my YT channel (linked in my sig) after Dec 2018 is on the Tacoma/FJ setup if you’d like some video evidence.
