Suspension problem? (2000 4x4)

Whenever I stop very quickly and the back end kicks up the rear suspension sometimes feels as if it gets stuck at the top of travel. When I start forward again or let of the brake, it feels as if the suspension finally drops back to normal. Is this normal for a 4Runner? Is it a known issue? Does something need to be lubed or replaced?

Thanks.

Your driveshaft slip joint is sticking. Do a search for "transmission thump" and you will see the same problem. Get a grease gun and pump the zerk full of grease until the slip joint expands and then a lot of grease oozes out. It will take a LOT of grease. Many pumps. Safely shake the truck up and down by jumping on the rear bumper and pushing the truck back and forth (try to work the slip joint). Drive the truck for a week or so and repeat the process.
