SW Colorado high country,,,

Headed up on sunday for some mellowness and see what was open in the high country...Here's what I found out.

Ophir pass was open to the top

Engineer Pass almost to the top

County guy was working on dozer at the time..

Turned around and went up Cinnamon Pass. It is clear over to Lake City.

Back down to Animas Forks(pics suck I know)

Then I booked it up Corkscrew Gulch and back to Silverton to eat a burger at Handlebars.

Looks like fun. I don't spend near enough time in Southern Colorado. I spent 3 weeks in Silverton last summer though, bad ass part of the state.

Will be in Ouray on the 21st and was hoping to give Poughkeepsie a shot. Any idea on condition?

I haven't been up, but if Ophir looks like that at the summit Poughkeepsie is probably not gonna be ready. They don't do any clearing on that particular trail. But who knows it's been really warm and that's still almost two weeks out.

I figured it would be cutting it close, but it has warmed up fast this year and stayed that way so we'll see.
