Hey every1 I was just wondering who out there has been stuck. Stories... Lessons learned stuff like that. Maybe even supplies you should always have in case of getting stuck.

Here's mine:

I was not prepared, did not have supplies and walked up the muddy hill 750 feet. The next morning I took 2 2x6's 4 feet long, A shovel, a bottle nose jack and a pair of mudding boots. 45 mins of digging and using the jack as a sledge hammer I pounded the 2x6's under my front tires and drove out the first day after it stopped raining

Lesson: I will never drive down a muddy hill when it is raining again. I slid down the whole way and only stopped because of the dent in my bumper on the passenger side. I hit a short metal pole cemented in at the bottom of the hill.

this is the closest ive ever come to getting stuck. If it wasn't for the crusty top layer and frozen snowmobile tracks it would've been smooth sailing. Luckily I always carry a shovel in the winter so i just dug out the front tires a bit and drove off. I learned my lesson though... i need a locking rear diff!

I got stuck snow wheeling with a buddy. We got stuck in a good 2.5 ft of snow, and it took us 2 hours to get it unstuck, and turned around. Only reason we got out was due to the fact we had two hand winches, a shovel, and a tow strap. And now my hood has an ass groove from where one of us had to sit to get some weight on the front end.

Sorry, no pics. We didn't bring a camera because we didn't think we would get stuck.

darn i should have taken some pictures when i got my 4runner stuck in a huge snow drift in my field. i had to crawl out the passenger door to get out the snow was almost at the top of the window, crazy.

I left my 4 runner at my friend's cabin in Tahoe because we were both planning on going back up there in a few days. Weather didn't permit and it got buried. I got back up there 5 days later and the only thing visible was 1 rear view mirror.

LOL how come I don't get to play in the snow? I have to drive 45 mins just to get to it.

My nephew and I were playin' around in a mud pit close to where I live and I got my 4runner kinda stuck (running 32s at the time). It took us around 3 hours of diggin' and waitin' (and at last, we had my sister towing us out of the pit).

She had a Land cruiser 90 (I think it's called prado in the states, we usually refer to it as 'Barbie')
and my nephew had a Suzuki Vitara on 33s.

This happened in a Montreal Alley way where my friend decided to go where the snow removal crew dumps all the snow in the neighborhood. Well, we were stuck b/c the body of the truck was sitting on ice and the tires had dug into the snow. We had zero traction. I broke a couple of desks, we had shovels but as you see, the tow truck came to the rescue the next morning.

Marlin Crawler Super HEavy Duty Clutch Here I Come, with a 1600 Lb pressure plate, I should be able to jump my truck out of a hole next time.

Never got the 4Runner stuck b/c I haven't taken it 4 wheeling. Got my Jeep Wrangler stuck about a year ago. I was very proud that up to that point I had never gotten it stuck before. I have pulled out several buddies on different occasions without fail.

Well....I hit a deep mud hole and the motor cut off b/c it swallowed a bunch of mud and water. All my momentum was lost and didn't make it out of the hole. I had to remove the air filter and then it started up again. By that time, it had sunk pretty good and had to be pulled out. Once we got it out, I drove back through the hole a bit slower and didn't have any problem getting in or out.

Was on my way to Jokulheimar last spring, alot of water beneth the snow and I fell into one pit there, took me 2,5 hour of diggin' to get the pony up.
I was alone, as my friends headed to jokulheimar few hours ahead of me.

But up it went!

To quote a guy at the yotatech forums, "holy batman fender flares!"

It's okay, but ugly, hopefully soon I'll make something prettier... lol You can check my gallery thread (see my sig) to see more pics of the beast.
It does make alot but still has it's weak points (smashed my shocks in the front last week...) and the links in the rear are pretty much in a need of a redesign...

But, on topic, post some pics of you stuck!

Last stuck I had was in about 3 feet of snow.. I was doing fine until I stopped moving.. I had just installed my rear LOCKER... A quick spin of the tires and I was to the axles.. It took me an hour using my high lift jacking up each corner of the truck because I made enough attempts at full throttle to acheive burying the truck to the frame... My tip to anyone in snow... Lift up each corner at a time PACK the snow back into the hole lower the corner down and repeat process until you are elevated again. Once elevated deflate your tires to give you more contact patch.. I drove out on 5 psi which is where I should have been to begin with not on 35 psi..

Hahahahaha. Reminds me of some tours I've been on alone...
Like the one to Jokulheima (I couldn't use the jack because of all the water, because it sunk until the top was underwater (I have the longest version 68" I think) and could probably go at least 6 feets lower... lol


Btw, do you have the 38s?
