Sway-a-way 1.5" rear coils

I am waiting on delivery of my 2015 TEP, and have been researching lift options. I am looking to gain about 2" up front using an adjustable coilover (still undecided but leaning towards BOSS), and would like about 1" or so in back to level everything out. I found sway a way rear coils that provide 1.5" of lift, with a 12% increase in spring rate that would match the boss front coils spring rate pretty good. Also, it should just give me about .5" of rake which would be acceptable. I would like stay away from trim packers or any kind of spacer if possible.

Does anybody have any experience with the sway a way coils? How do they ride? Or, any other ideas? Thanks, can only get so much info from reading specs on a website, but real world feedback is priceless.

This is a great setup, gives some lift without going to high. Ride quality is excellent on and off-road.

Thanks jhalko, that is what i am looking for....just a bit stiffer than stock, but still comfortable. I only want to run 265's or 275's and this amount of lift seems perfect. You having any squeaks or clunking with the boss co's?

I got 2" lift from the Sway-a-way coils on my 2011 TE. I expected them to settle, but if they did, it was only by 1/4" or so. Many people report more than that, so results may vary.

I was worried about that too. If that's the case, I might as well go with the superflex coils that come with the BOSS kit. Thanks..

Have not had any issues, they've been in for about 4 months and I've done some decent off-roading. The ride really is great, but I came from the Xreas setup so probably different then you, my on road ride was already great. Also I did get exactly 1.5" in lift in the rear, I have third row seats which apparently does seem to make a difference. I have 265's and they might look a little small even for this setup, I'll probably go to dura tracks next but stay at 265.

Do you have any pics of your truck with the lift....

The ride is great on road and plenty of flex off road. Before the lift, the rear sank about 1.5" with all camping gear and family, and only about .5" after. I am running these with FOX 2.0 rear shocks and FOX 2.0 coilovers up front. Got everything from Camburg Engineering.

Thanks. Was condsidering the fox co's too too. any idea what the spring rate is?

Hope these come through, the driveway is not level. Also see Antman build thread as Jeff has the same height lift as I do but with Duratrac's, his truck was most of my inspiration and it looks better with the more aggressive 265's imho.

I have saw coils. Click the link in my sig for pics and install. Go to the pic and video page. Look at the icon install thread for details. There are a bunch of albums but not all show on first page.

Thanks jhalko! That is pretty much spot on the amount of lift i am looking for. I think the 265's look great on your truck! A little more width and offset on the wheels and some shoulder tread on the tires will give it a more agressive look for sure and should match up with my trail great. I have been talking with kevin at toytec and he has been really patient with all my questions. Think im about ready to pull the trigger and have it waiting when my runner finally gets here.

I've got 2" All-pro springs installed right now. My measurements with 285 duratracs are 39.5" driver rear and 40.5 passenger rear. So I have a pretty severe case of the 4runner lean going on..

I'm going to try something this weekend I have not seen before and mount a SAW coil on my passenger rear to hopefully level things out. They have a similar spring rate as the All-pro, so I thing it should work.. We'll see

Can you re-measure and measure it from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender, that way it takes the tire out of it?

Running different length springs doesn't sound like a good idea to me but I don't know enough about suspension to know. Most use a spacer to even things a bit, kdss leans one way and the rest of us lean the other.

I thought about using a spacer on the driver side, but the passenger side is a little too high for my liking.

I know some stock vehicles use different springs on the diver side vs passenger side to level out the lean, and many use one daystar spacer on the driver side to level it out. We'll see how it goes - I may end up putting both SAW springs in with a spacer on the low side if I have to.

I'm at approx 25" hub to fender passenger rear and 24" hub to fender driver rear. I'll update after I get that saw spring in.

ome 884 springs on bilstein 5100 on the bottom rung with no topout spacer put me at 22" driver front and 22-1/2" passenger front hub to fender. Just for anyone's future reference considering this set-up...

Hey Jhalko. Dragging up an old thread.
I currently have 1.5" SAW coils in the rear. Just ordered the SSS rear bumper in group buy thanks to Fargo4x4. I see that you have the CBI rear bumper...Do you still have the 1.5" SAW springs in rear? If not, what did you change to? And, did you change because added CBI bumper weight caused sag, mushy ride, especially when loaded???

Thanks

consider me first in line if you decide to get rid of those coils.

They will sag for sure but it still ride great for me when I had it. If your have the bumper and 3rd row, I would upgrade it but if no 3rd row, you just need to decide if You like the lift height. I would decide after your bumper is install.
