Sway Bar Bracket Bolt

Any chance one of you fine gentlemen have the part number or a link to where I can get the bolt that holds the bottom rear sway bar bracket?

The PO decided to use regular bolts in the bracket. One of them ended up snapping clean off and bending the bracket all the way back to where the sway bar was in between my rear spring. I've removed the rear swaybar and drilled the remaining part of the bolt off. Bough 2 new brackets with bushings but they didn't come with the bolts. I have only been able to find the whole assembly for sale, not the individual bolt. It also appears to be slightly tapered so using standard sized bolt leaves for a little wiggle room.

If you know the size you need (maybe pull one off the front to see if it fits right?), take an example down to your local dealer and see if they can match it.

I had an oem bolt break off in same place. I had to drill it out and then retap the bolt hole. Just used a larger bolt. Holding fine for a couple trail trips so far. A standard bolt should work, just sounds like your threads might be damaged from drilling out the bolt.

Here is the dimensions for the bolt. I pulled those off of this writeup on the addco bars.
You may be able to just get them at ace or anywhere that sells individual bolts.

Perfect timing for this question/answer, I was asking myself the same thing just yesterday as I get ready to reinstall my sway bars (I don't have the original bolts).

Metric bolts are designated in yield strength by class, not grade; [MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] is correct that you don't want to have any weak bolts for any suspension parts so find a junkyard or Dorman may make some 10.9 M8, which I think they do.

They do, but you can also find them at Ace Hardware. Ace will NOT have a 10.9 hex bolt, or at least ones that I've been to don't. They will have metric Socket Head Cap Screws though, and those are a minimum of 10.9. If you're in a pinch those will work just fine.

I replace all my bolts with metric 10.9 stuff every time I remove one. I order all of by metric bolts from BelMetric since you can buy as many or few as you want.

They will. I would go for something like this though. They have a yellow zinc coating which will help protect against rust. The ones you post fron Fastenal are plain, and will start getting surface rust pretty quite.
