Questions on adjustment to length of sway bar end links

These links are now made to fit on FJ Cruisers, and Lexus GX470 (w/out KDSS only).

These links will work on lifts up to 3", and add an additional 1" to the overall length. These are made with 1/2-20 LH chromoly rod ends with nylon races.

I received and installed the full set of standard sway bar links for my 4th gen which has a 2" lift front and rear, and I love them! Thanks!

I have some questions that I hope you can help answer for me.

1) My mechanic said that the length can be adjusted.
2) He said that I should make them longer if I wanted more stiffness, and less body roll.

Question 1) Is he correct?
Question 2) If so, how do I adjust the length? I'm assuming there may be
a trick or two to make it easy or easier to adjust, so I figure I'd ask.
For example, Can I loosen the "locking nut" as I call it, and then rotate the hex shank with a wrench to make the link longer?

Any thoughts and/or insights you can share would be greatly appreciated.

1. He is correct about them being able to be adjusted. The standard links can be adjusted out on both ends. The disco's can be adjusted out on the heim end only. He is incorrect about them needing to be adjusted to add stiffness, and lessen body roll.

2. You're not going to be able to stiffen anything by replacing sway bar links with sway bar link, or be making sway bar links longer. If you make the links longer you're going to run into the issue restricting your flex. You never want to extend the links past being parallel with the LCA in the rear. The front is generally spot on, and doesn't need to be adjust. Usually the rear is pretty close as well. The only benefit you gain from adjusting the links is getting the sway bar itself back to its intended position.

You can loosen the on the heim joints, and the nut below the bushings. After those are lose you simply turn the hex tube. Turning it one way will shorten, and the other way will lengthen.

I'm going to be making some changes to the links very soon. No changes in the design, but I do have something new to add. Something the you 4th Gen, 5th Gen, and FJ guys might really like. Something like a disco that works for the front?

Other changes coming are going to be color options for the tubes. You'll be able to choose from the standard Yellow Zinc, Bright Polished Chrome, Black Powder Coat, and Gray Hammertone Powder Coat. I'll get some picture up of the new colors before I make the changes.

I can get additional colors, but unfortunately it's going to be about $50 more expensive. This is still an option, but at that price most people sill stick with the original ones.
