I used a quick disconnect ball joint and allthread, I normally just leave them disconnected though. I dont have any rear swaybars.

To allow full flex (and not have the length of the end links not limit)
The front stock length is fine. (I remove my links when wheeling for better flex and a better ride)
The rears should be 1 inch longer. Only 1 inch longer. If they are too long they will come in contact with the lower control arms upon compression. This can be done by welding an inch of rod into the middle of the stock links or shorten a pair of 2nd gen links.

I''m planning on buying some longer links for my rear sway bar... Is the above quote accurate??
Rear 2nd Gen end links are longer and fit our 3rd Gens for the rear???

I agree the fronts are fine, but you must disconnect them or they will break under full flex.
The rear works better if you raise the mounting brackets on the axle and keep the links the same length. Steve sells these and I have them. I can fully stuff both tires without the swaybar limiting flex after raising the braket points.
I have noticed the 2nd gen's are smaller diamater. (will that matter? I dont know)

Hey now, I grew up in OR live in Montana and was thought of as one that would, but at 38 I can honestly say I have NEVER smoked the reefer. so HA :bluejump: and proud of it.

I would not use the front sway links off our 3rd gens for the rear on our 3rd gens (there is a design difference between the two)..... for the millionth time; go find some rear links from a 2nd gen and use it on your lifted 3rd's rear.... once again 'it is the 2nd gen rear links that work on the rear of 3rd gens with a lift', b/c they are about an 1&1/4" longer than the stock 3rd gens.:rockthrow:

I ordered some 2nd Gen rear links off E-bay, and waiting for them to come in! At $40.00 for a pair... I had to try them out! They are $35.00 to $70.00 a piece here locally!

I believe Sonoran Steel sells some beefier front links. Might be worth looking into.
Made my own in case your so inclined... So far so good with them.
