Sway Links for a 3" lift???

Since I installed my 3" toytec lift I have removed my sway bars in the front and rear...I also happen to tow a boat and utility trailer. I have experienced "death wobble" way too many times pulling my boat up windy mountain roads and I'm looking for some sway links to match my height increase. I've looked into the WAB FAB links but it's a little to pricey for me right now. I've been looking at Tundra front sway links. My 99' stock links measure 192.5mm and a 2006 Tundra front links measure 201.6mm. It's not quite the increase I'm looking for but it's a step in the right direction as far as length.

Has anyone ran these or does anyone know a sway link that is closer to matching my lift and doesn't set me back $300 for front and rear links?

You don't really need longer links in the front. I have 4 inches of lift in the front and i am using the stock links. rears do benefit from longer links. i would pick up a 2nd set of links for the front and use them on the rear as they are longer than the stock rear links.

I was thinking about just getting four front sway links for a Tundra for now. I was looking into upgrading my sway bars eventually. I talked to the guys at ADDCO Sway Bars and I can get my rear sway links custom fit if I give them the measurements when I order front and rear sway bars. The front and rear kits would set me back $320-340. Much more reasonable then $300 for four links.

I believe 4crawler sells blocks that lower the sway bar bushings in the middle and allow the use of stock end links.

It is actually the rear links from 2nd gens that fit really well( not the fronts), they are about an inch and a quarter longer than the stock 3rd gens and they seem to work perfect for a 3" lift on the rear links for 3rd gens.

As for Wabfab, the dude is a douche. I mus****-ed up the cash to buy some and after not getting a shipping order after about a week I question there delivery, and when they might arrive. I got a one word reply... something along the lines of 'shipping monday'. That Monday I did get a UPS notice, but it was just a recipt for the shipping, he never really shipped them out.
I then questioned why it wasnt sent out and he said 'waiting on bushings', was the extent of his explaination.
So I say, 'cut me $50 and just ship the links, I have the fancy bushings'.
Next thing I know this *insert french words* had canceled my order and I lost $10 through paypal bs policies.

Case in point, never dealing with a single thing that guy sell again, and loving the $146 I got back... can anyone say 'grape ape'.
Get your 2gen links for like $25... and get yourself some!

I"ll look into the 2nd gen links. I don't have coilovers, I have the toytech/eibach lift coils and adjustable 5100's and 9 wraps in the rear. I think I'll be doing what Brian2sun did and run LC OME front coils in my rear. I'm thinking the 9 wrap LC coils are too soft and that is whats giving me the oscillating death wobble. My list of "things to do" or "things to upgrade" is so damn long, evetually the upgraded sways will be done. A $100 a day coke addiction would be a cheaper hobby.

naw man, point is the sites meant to be about trucks dude, and it's meant to be family friendly, i like the mods let us get away with crap in a few threads here and there, which is all good,but it shouldn't start seeping into our tech talk, the world is far bigger then what you think, google "4runner sway links for 3" lift " this thread is number 1 now and is a valid noob question, that means everyone in the world that has this question maybe directed to this post and get the wrong impression of our forum and kills the credibility of us as a whole, people are often over judgmental and often unfounded in thier judgments, but that doesn't mean we can't try to come off as a creditable forum for information.

like i said man, i smoke and am all for it, in fact i have some grape ape myself, just picked it up on saturday from the dispensary and would smoke anyone of you silly if i got the chance but.......lets keep this sort of thing out of tech discussions and in the 3-4 b.s. threads the sys-ops let us have, not being a **** or anything friend, just saying is all =-):thumb3:

I've snapped a stock sway bar link. It happened in a weird off camber spot, but they don't hold up too well IMO..

You need to replace all parts of your suspension with something similiar to your custom lower links. Something overly beefy that you can't break. You seem to wheel harder than just about anyone on here IMO and no part of your poor truck is safe when you get behind the wheel.

Haha, thanks. There are a few others on here that wheel as hard or harder than I do (J-money$$$, Driffter33, troyboy, maclean216, to name a few). Plus I'm sure a lot of the Colorado folks wheel hard too. I grew up in the mountains so I've been wheelin with my Dad since I could talk.

Actually though, as far as breaking parts goes, I'll bet I've broken less parts and have had my truck longer than most people on here. I never broke anything on the rear suspension, I just replaced a lot of things before I broke them. I've actually given away most of my stock suspension parts because they were still in decent shape. Besides the one sway bar link, the only other thing I can think of that broke because of wheeling was just one single CV in 10 years.

My truck is so armored up that there really isn't much to break under there and I try to baby the few things that are exposed like the rear u-joint. I don't want to beef up the front only because I'd rather just put the money towards an SAS.

Is "allthread" pre-threaded? I got an email today from RockAuto and those beefy links I found are 162.7mm which is way shorter then our stock links. Back to the drawing board

I have looked into this as well. I talked with Steve at Sonoran Steel about my 1.2 lift and newly broken sway bar links. He recommended I run with the following:
* 2WD (specific) Tundra end links
* 2005-2007 Tundra or whatever year has CAST-iron end links.


Those should be the same fit and not snap.

I built some custom ones with heim joints on the end. I used allthread so I just fitted them and cut them to the perfect length.

What size heim joints did you use? 3/8, 7/16? I'm ready to make some links up myself.

I used 12mm Aurora rod ends. I wanted to keep all the hardware metric.
