Sweetwater off road - Atlanta Georgia

No but I always pick up a case of Sweetwater IPA or Festive Ale in the winter when I am in ATL. Ha.

Not sure. But I used to climb at Boat Rock which is one exit before six flags. I remember someone mentioning sweetwater park around there.

Maybe check out some google action for parks near I-20 and six flags.

I think it's somewhere off of sweetwater road but I live about 40 min away so I can't take the risk To go search haha

ive been there a couple times. its about 20 mins from me. its canton area. right off hwy 20 . just a trail that runs out to lake allatoona. To me its just a trail with giant mud pits and ruts for those stupid big trucks. but if u wanna go let me know i'll be more than happy to go.

I've seen some pictures of it, Here's a couple of my buddies jeep there. I've never been, I had my fill of the whole mudding thing with my 4wheeler. It was till sh!t started tearing up.

yea I'll go with you. But like the person above me said...mud really tears things up and its a PITA to clean. i've learned my lesson with mud. I might run through some solid bottom puddles..but if its clayin up and u can't find the bottom of a pit with the stick..i'm not going through it. i'll roll up around up the sides

Thanks for the pictures and i know mud is awful but this isn't my daily driver so it's not that big of a deal and plus If I go with some buddies they'll pay me to clean their rigs haha

been up there a couple times.... love the lake at the end. last time i went i got stuck once but my friend pulled me out but then his yeep died halfway back in a rut and flooded part of the interior. i had to drive to the start of the trail, pick up his dad with a new battery, then drive back and switch out batteries. this was before i even had all terrain tires and after it had rained for 3 days straight. fun trail, however, everyone in ga knows about it now so the ruts continue to get deeper and deeper

Amzing Toyota

What's amazing about Toyota is that they maintain the quality of their cars. This is the reason why I prefer this kind of car. I got to select out the perfect Toyota in Atlanta. It was not without help though. A dealership was able to help me make the final decision. I decided before I went that I wanted Toyota. After looking over all the various makes and models accessible, I realized it would be easier to narrow the search to an excellent brand that I like. By going to Toyota Atlanta GA, I was able to quickly find my dealership.

I know a few of my friends plan on going out there sometime soon, one in a 93 toyota pick up (2nd gen) and not sure if one's bringing out his 3rd gen T4R w/ a SAS or his cherokee, then myself good to see it's stock height friendlyish (never been myself).

The lake at the end looks like it makes worth the mud. Bring a kayak and a few fishing poles and you are set!

if you go down it during mid summer when there has been little rain if any the trail is pretty much dry

It's not a "legal" trail as far as I know. I spend most of my summers on the lake (boat) and have lived in the area my entire life. I see people regularly getting tickets from the DNR at many of the points where they like to ride out to. There is a reason you won't find people willing to publicly give out directions to the trail online.

Once you go beyond a certain point on the trail (marked by trees with horizontal red stripes) it becomes illegal. It isn't posted, but if you get caught it's an automatic $500 ticket, no questions asked. I just recently went there (to help pull a friend's f250 out). That place is crazy...or at least the parts I went on. Almost flipped my Tacoma.
On the "road" that isn't deemed Lower Sweetwater there's supposed to be a gate marking the legal boundary
I recommend NEVER going alone on this one. On some parts, a spotter is necessary. On other parts - depending on your chosen line - a rescue vehicle is necessary.

Sounds like you guys need to do like we used to do in the Black Hills of SD and go visit your nearest Forest Service office--they should have maps with all the open and closed roads and trails. Bumping into the local ranger is definitely too late to figure out the status of the trail (oops!).
