This incident came to my mind. He was lucky he wasn't seriously hurt. Regardless it's good imagery of what NOT to do.
 
Dropped my 4runner off for lift install this evening... Gave me a good chance to do a quick trail ride on my recently acquired second toy :)

At this point I don't plan on modding this one further than it is already. It's a sweeeet truck.

Those ICON stickers on the UCA's will start melting...had to rip mine off. And rip the Drivers/Passenger stickers off - lol.

You might want to look into these as well

I have them on mine...I actually replaced the foam double-sided tape with 3M tape to make sure they don't fall off. They'll help keep things cleaner with the uniball design.
 
Update to the grill: thes things aren't the easiest to paint. The little ledge on the letters makes it tough to mask off. In my pic these areas are little white spots showing the original color.

I got the cap covers as well... just gotta put them on once I pick it up from the shop. Thanks for the heads up, though!

For anyone wondering, I took it to Production Off Road here in VA Beach.

Yep, still 265's. I'm waiting on the SCS-6's to come back in stock (late October) before I go to a bigger tire so I can do it all at once. Right now I'm pretty convinced to go with the MT/R kevlars but I'm torn between 285/70/17 and 305/70/17. I think after talking with a lot of people if I went with 305/70/17, I would for sure get rub under compression and lock. Still not sure. Maybe I should start a poll :D

I got a BMC at the same time as this lift for tire clearance... I'll have to get pics up of that as well. They did a decent job on the BMC from a quick glance yesterday.

I should add here...

If anyone is looking for a cool wheel setup, I'm probably getting rid of my Cooper ATP 265/70/17 on Black Rhino Imperial 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing here within a month or two. They're still on my rig so I don't want to post them for sale or anything, but if you stumble across this post and you're looking for something feel free to hit me up.

305s will definitely take a little more work to get so they don't rub when you wheel it for real. I think the 285s still look pretty big on the truck because I often get people asking me if I'm running 34s or 35s. Maybe it's partly because of the amount of poke I have.
 
Just picked it up. They aligned it 7 times. Now it's awesome.

Looks a little higher up front because it is. It's stiff with the 700 lb spring but will be much better once I get the shrock bumper and winch up there.

The 265s look like babies on this.

MetalTech's extended travel kit... It's about 2-2.5"

I can reach in and somewhat straighten it out with my hand. The other is dead straight. I just want to make sure something isn't messed up.
 
You need extended sway bar link, otherwise you restrict the travel of the rear suspension and can break the end link easy like some people have.
