Switch/Circuit help or advice

I am working on implementing the “Gray Wire Mod” for the e-locker on my truck. I am looking for some help with including a switched circuit for the green/orange wire that controls the speed (mph) safety and prevents the locker from engaging at speeds over 5mph. I would like to add a switch that maintains the safety feature, except when I flip a switch that grounds the green/orange wire and allows engagement of of the e-locker at any speed.
I am looking for help in building the circuit for this. I envision a rocker type switch that glows green when the upper half is depressed and completes the circuit from the locker actuator to the ECU. When the bottom half of the switch is depressed, the green/orange wire goes to ground and allows engagement at speeds above 5 mph. When the switch has the bottom depressed I would like it to glow red. I have attached a crude drawing of the circuit I am trying to set up, which I hope helps explain what I am talking about.
I am hoping for suggestions as to what type of switch to use and where to attach the wires on that switch in order for the circuit(s) to behave the way I have described. Any advice on what switch to buy and how to wire it will be greatly appreciated.

https://otrattw.net/home.php Here's a source for switches but it's probably going to be difficult to find one that lights differently top and bottom. It would be easier if your switch annunciator could just be dark for normal mode.

I could live with that light configuration- I have the most trouble with understanding which terminals on the switch to use for each part of the circuit(s).

I think this is an on/on rocker with the dual lights. I just don't understand which wires to connect to each terminal. Also, in order for the illumination to work I would assume that you need to pull power to it, and I don't know how to go about that either.

Hoping for more advice, etc.

I think it will work, I just need to figure out the terminals and power deal.

That will do the switching fine but the lights are rated for 24 volts a/c. They may work at 12 volts dc or not. You may be able to replace them with 12v dc bulbs if they blow. For the wiring you want to use a 12v source that's switched by the ignition and a ground. The stereo uses a 12v switched source but you could find one closer to your switch using a multi meter or a test light. The wiring of the lights in the switch is a little trickier, I'm sure google could give you a nice wiring diagram for that.

You don't want to ground the green and orange wire.


You want to interrupt the circuit to fool the ecu that it is not moving.

If you ground the green and orange wire, your speedo , cruise and abs won't work .

Why do you want to disable the speed safety?? Sounds like you're asking for loud noises to come from the rear end when the locker engages...

I take it that the green/orange wire is the speed wire?

I think this switch will work for what you want. The terminal identification is in the data sheet link on the link you posted, 4th of 5 pages. The light circuit is isolated from the switch circuit, so it needs an additional power source, actually exactly what you need, since you aren't switching power.
