I am working on implementing the “Gray Wire Mod” for the e-locker on my truck. I am looking for some help with including a switched circuit for the green/orange wire that controls the speed (mph) safety and prevents the locker from engaging at speeds over 5mph. I would like to add a switch that maintains the safety feature, except when I flip a switch that grounds the green/orange wire and allows engagement of of the e-locker at any speed.
I am looking for help in building the circuit for this. I envision a rocker type switch that glows green when the upper half is depressed and completes the circuit from the locker actuator to the ECU. When the bottom half of the switch is depressed, the green/orange wire goes to ground and allows engagement at speeds above 5 mph. When the switch has the bottom depressed I would like it to glow red. I have attached a crude drawing of the circuit I am trying to set up, which I hope helps explain what I am talking about.
I am hoping for suggestions as to what type of switch to use and where to attach the wires on that switch in order for the circuit(s) to behave the way I have described. Any advice on what switch to buy and how to wire it will be greatly appreciated.
