Switch Installation In Dash Question

On my 2022 4RUNNER SR5 Premium: Please- How does one go about properly removing one of these switch covers on the left side of the dash? I don’t want to break anything.

I’ve ordered a switch and relay kit for raptor lights, and the switch I’ve chosen will fit in one of these holes in the dash if I can learn how to properly remove one of these small covers.

You can easily remove the piece of trim just above the switches, the part that wraps around the side. Gently pull, it’s just held on with clips. Then you’ll be able to push the switch blank out from the rear.

All righty! Perfect. So that whole panel has to come off first.

I’m glad I checked in here, because I was going to start by prying and picking at one of those switch blanks themselves.

Not too gentle. Pull as hard as you're comfortable with and then pull just a little bit harder to release the clips. The actual switch caps also come out but you should have some plastic trim tools to pry them.

There must be a few hundred pictures here of all sorts of parts taken apart, including my build thread, so you are not attempting anything unique or difficult.

I’ve done this exact task on my 2016, a number of times.
I wouldn’t recommend going for it without watching YouTube videos first. You gotta YouTube these things sir. There’s good advice in the answers here, but there’s more to it, don’t believe - look at my photos. don’t be that guy who busts clips forever

i usually just pull the whole dash section (that contains those switches) out/down and squeeze my hand in there and the blanks have tabs top and bottom you squeeze, push the blank out. pretty simple. I dont mess with the panel above the switches. prolly easier to pull out the top panel though.
