Switch Pro's Mount

I only have ideas, no pics - but - I have this idea of mounting the switchpros module in the little cubby below the HVAC... so you could open the compartment to expose the switches when you go offroad, and then keep it closed and looking factory the rest of the time. Based on rough measurements I think it can be done, but I think you'd have to do some clearance work behind that space.

I don't have any pics with me, but I had it mounted to the fender near the window washer reservoir. The screws I had stripped out from bouncing around, so now it's just kind of sitting there haha. One of these days I need to clear out my engine bay and redo all my wiring and mounts. It's kind of a mess right now.

I used the cubby for live USB ports and dual battery voltage monitors. There actually isn't a whole of space behind there.

Agreed, it is quite small and you have to use the top 40% of that space very well because the bottom portion is very narrow. I still think I could make it work, but I just don't have enough switched accessories to warrant a Switchpro yet ( even though I wish I needed it).

Thought I would give an update on my switch mounting. @tin came up with a nice mount for the switch panel. Below are some pics of the prototype i am trying out. To mount this you just pop out the three blanks in the console. The mount has two small tabs that drop down in the outer openings to keep it from shifting around. Then it uses 4 threaded rods and a backing plate to keep it firmly mounted.

Probably resurrecting this thread from the dead, but I designed and printed this myself, and have since changed it out for a real switchpros :nerd:
As a side note, I wanted them mounted up high so the red backlight would double as a "nightvision preserving" maplight for the cockpit

Hey, this looks great! Do you by any chance still have the STL file? I want to print one similar for some carling switches and this would save me a ton of work. I would be super grateful!

Are these for sale or is there a .stl file that I can get? Doesn't look like Tin is active on here anymore.
With the switch pro, can that be programmed on the fly? Like you can change a switch from ignition to always-hot without doing any rewiring, just change it in software?

Went with a slightly different variation of the overhead sunglass location mount. I decided on this location as opposed to the center console so that things wouldn't be turned on by accident (I've dropped something in that exact location twice before accidentally triggering the downhill assist button).
I also liked the idea of the panel being hidden when not in use so I made a custom bracket out of ABS to fit inside the sunglass tray. I'm super happy with this setup after a couple months of use. It's easily accessible when needed, but hidden away the other 98% of the time when not needed.
